Scan deal of the day

Been looking at at this screen on and off for a few months and this is the best price I have seen. Although not a "gaming" monitor is has a low response time and input lag compared to other screens at this price according to tft central.

Free collction in Bolton store
£4.79 from UPS collect shops
£11.50 DPD delivery.

Was about to buy for £30 pound more from amazon so looks like a deal.

My first post so be gentle.

I've been keeping an eye on prices too, this is a great price. I should still probably resist.

99% aRGB coverage?

Monitor factory tuned at 99% sRGB with a deltaE < 3
ultra-wide 178°/178° viewing angles.
Normal price. Cold.
Got one from NRG earlier this year for £280, 3 year warranty from NRG rather than Dell though.

Excellent monitor, use mine for work stuff but it's so easy on the eyes, I can use it for hours/all day without eye strain or headaches.
Some people take '2k' to mean 1080p.

Just say 1440p.

Ok thanks, added 1440p to title.
How will this work with a Nvida 1060 6gb graphics? Would you run it at 1440p with this card? Not looking at fast shoot em out games. Currently playing civilization. Warhammer 40k Dawn of war. Looking also at Homms 3-5 and EUIV in the future.

Thoughts?

For those games, that card with this screen makes a very nice combination. I have this screen for work and use it 8-10 hours a day and it's superb, just as others have mentioned.
How does text look on this screen? Not too small? How does it work with Youtube videos? Most of these are still 480p. it's also how close you sit to it. If this is going to last 10 years I want to get it right.
These monitors suffer from a blackout issue?

It appears to be cable and or DP 1.2 related on the monitors settings. Is this likely to be an issue on any screen I buy?

Anyone resolved this issue?

Had to scour for any gaming reviews on your linked monitor.

For the Dell.
TftCentral state - Lag per frame.
' Less than 16ms / 1 frame lag - should be fine for gamers, even at high levels.

A lag of 16 - 32ms / One to two frames - moderate lag but should be fine for many gamers. Caution advised for serious gaming and FPS'

The Dell model including lag and response time came in at 12ms. A similar Samsung tv had a 21ms response. So you will likely get 1-2 frames lag. These TV's are not designed for serious gaming. Fine for Xbox or Playstation as these are limited to 30 FPS anyway.

I did buy this after I posted. I am running it in a dual set up with my old Samsung 24 1080p TN panel. The text on this is small but sharp, whether this is too small will very much be a subjective thing. You can use with windows scaling to say 125 percent which is very easy to set up and looks fine, if not quite as clear. I find on youtube I can always use the cinema mode Instead of full screen for lower quality videos.

From what I heard this was when people were setting up daisy chaining multiple monitors and basically not having the correct settings and or inputs and outputs. There are a few websites with ways of fixing it but don't have first hand experience of the issue.

I think it is also a DP 1.2 compatability too pending on your graphics. I have not made the purchase yet. May wait till after Christmas now and see what the sales might bring.

I can buy a refurbished model (Cancelled order but nothing wrong with it.) for £319 with 3 year return to the firm that supplies it warranty.

Definately need to upgrade/replace this aging monitor. Nice to know you have had no issues with yours. Thank you for your reply.

Just checked the link and it has gone up to £371.99 so I will expire. But that is still cheaper than amazon for anyone interested. Maybe January will bring cheaper prices.

I've got two of these and as another user mentioned, it appears to be a daisy chaining issue. Assuming you turn DP1.2 on for daisy chaining and use the stock cables, you shouldn't really encounter it, maybe once in a long while. But if you're using your own cables you might get it. My setup last year used a long third party cable to monitor 1 and then stock cable to daisy chain to monitor 2, this gave me the black screen issue when it goes into standby or sometimes from a cold boot. There is a simple fix, just turn both monitors on/off from the wall plug at the same time, or in my case just the extension cord they were both connected to.

This year I've moved and my new setup uses only the stock cables that came with it and its been fine, not had the issue since, at least not yet lol.

I like the monitors a lot, can't comment on using more than 2 monitors in a chain, I plan to find out sometime in the future.
I only ever intended to use one monitor.
Should be fine then.
