Original Poster

I havent been able to find anything close around the net to this spec for the price....!

been on previously for £350. I bought it then, good laptop, even at this price

wait till thursday.

Dell update their prices/specs tomorrow Thursday, this deal may get better then...or maybe not..only dell know.

I vote for tomorrow ... worth the gamble, something is bound to come up. get up early in case MikeT finds a misprice  what time you plannin' on gettin' up MikeT..?

Huh? Why are they updating their prices? is it an every Thursday thing or a special offer/promo

Pretty much every thursday there is a price review.

Very good price! now if the graphics was dedicated then that would be superb!
As it is excellent!

Dell changed their policy some months ago now and only do site wide updates every 2 weeks on a Thursday (tomorrow), I normally start looking at the site around 5:30am to be in with a chance of a misprice ;-)

I've just set the alarm for 5:35am MikeT. Hope that gives you enough time to find one :whistling:

just a quick question. When you order from the business section and you're not a business does it matter ? what if you get a problem would you have to prove you're a business or anything if you wanted to take it up with them ?

my friend is looking for a laptop same sort of spec and price but probably would perfer vista premium. I heard in vista business you dont really get any media functions but guess that aint really a big issue

if you phone you will get the system you want with the os you want. The 6400 i ordered was in the business section but i bought it as a home user with vista premium instead of business installed.

Misprices? I'm after a new laptop (my previous Dell 2650 has packed up after 5 years) and also have the benefit of an early alarm clock in the shape of a 2 and a half month old daughter - worth checking at 5.30 then Mike?

I wish it were that simple

Problem is that after finding something it takes me 10 mins to write up the deal and in that time dell can and have in the past changed the spec or price, so I spend some time chasing my tail on dell days.

I love it! They've even got a name! Your partner must love you ("sorry luv, too busy - it's a Dell Day.)

I've reset the alarm for 5:45 :giggle:

How heavy are laptops in the Vostro range? i need something which is fairly light to carry as i travel around a lot.

I had looked at the 1400 but ends up about £480 with the upgraded battery etc.
