I've been speccing up a Vostro for a few months now (saving money ) and a word of warning, April's deals aren't very good. 3 years servicing for the price of 2 doesn't affect you if you buy no service, and 40% off a printer is frankly useless :P I'd advise waiting until May to see what they replace those with, they can't really get any worse.

Still a good deal for the season, heat added

edit: also they regularly have free upgrades to truelife screens and such, I priced up exactly the same laptop in March and it was £30 cheaper. Also comes with Vista Home rather than Business!

comes up at £562 for me! £20 OFF.

Another £50 off this top spec notebook today, now just £533 delivered.

Hi, and thanks for posting all the great Dell offers. Over the last week or so I've been reading through all the threads I can find. I'm looking in to getting a similar spec (to this one) but 17" model and have decided to wait to see what the next set of Dell vouchers etc are like. It looked like I just missed out on a good set of deals which ended a couple weeks back and the current crop aren't as good for what I'm after.
Also, reading about the battery situation, with the 6 cell one they offer with the vostro, I think I will wait until they change it, or they offer a 9 cell one as an upgrade or something.
The vostro range certainly looks like the best value for money. Pricing up an inspiron with similar specs seems to bring the price up to more than a vostro, although it does offer an upgrade option of a 9 cell batery.

Ok- on to my question- Do you happen to know, (or would you be able to direct me to where I can find out the information), if Vostro's have DVI in and out ports on them, and also what other connections they have. It doesn't seem to say anywhere on the Dell website, or perhaps I've just ben dumb and can't find it). One of the reasons I want to know is I am pondering about the idea of plugging my xbox360 into the laptop so I can play using the laptop screen (so the wife doesn't miss casualty while I'm playing lol) I have the standard tv cable and the hdmi cable for the xbox. I also wanted to know if there are connections for plugging a tv signal in. I could always buy a separate tv tuner or something, but it would be good if I could see exactly what it's got and what I might need to get.

Any and all info greatly appreciated.
