I think that he means this link ]http//co…756

and it is as good a hot deal as the Vostro 1500 that is/was for £316 ish
This one has extra (for the price diff of £386-£316= £70 may be made up of , for example) :-

1) Vista® Business - instead of basic (£23)
2) 17" higher res. display instead of 15.4" (£47) means nearly 20% larger area so more comfortable for those who like higher res.
3) but there is no free upgrade from 6 to 9 cell batteries (worth £11)
4) And there is a free carry case (worth £10 ?) (but who needs another case!)
and you don't have to buy those small items , unlike the previous offer on the Vostro 1500

So both appear to be the similar value propositions except for the free battery upgrade at £11. This Vostro 1700 is heavier than the 1500.

Thanks splender!

Not sure what's wrong with the links tonight, but I tried changing the link in the OP in numerous ways and nothing worked. :?
I've since tried clicking on the 'go to deal' buttons for all the Dell deals from this morning, and none of them work!

I think the problem is with the referrer prefix that this site adds to the start of the deal links. If you cut out just the Dell url address from the end of the 'go to deal' link address and use that - it works. Alternatively you can put the link in a normal post (not the deal post) as you have.

I was wondering if I as a private person can buy a Vostro, and in this case how to do it? do I have to send any tax forms and stuff?. I am from norway, now living in Wales, and mentioned the Vostro for someone, and they said it was to much papers and bother. The are so much cheaper than most others, so I am considdering one, if its possible.

I bought one when they first were released. Didnt need to show any forms. just ordered it, it came.

Sounds good......will try it then

Hi Viking,
The Vostros are aimed at business users, but most people around here buy them via the Dell Home site so that they get the dsr (distance selling regulation) right to return the machine (no reason required) within 7 days of receiving it for a refund. If you go to this deal via the 'go to deal' link in the original post (which appears to be working again) and order it from there you will not be asked for a buisiness name and will be ordering it as a private indiviual (Unless you have ordered sutff from Dell as a buisiness before and use the same login).
