So it may only have 1gig of ram, swop one out for a 2gig strip from say 7dayshop for £20 and its a bargain game capable 17" notebook. The cpu even though a celeron is more than capable when paired with the 256meg graphics solution.

I guess by the lack of comments everybodys all spent out after yesterdays bargains ;-)

and works out at £466.48?

what u think

and i load it with ram seperatly?

but i suppost cost going up and up

can u put 4g of ram in?

The Celeron cpu did fine in a couple of games I tried it on, the 256meg graphics took most of the load, not sure how well it would do on CAD. As I said before I dont do CAD so cant advise on experience.
The system will only see a max of just over 3gig of ram so I would advise trying just one 2gig strip plus the 512meg making 2.5gig and see how that goes to keep the cost down if going for this ecode.

Does this use the same platform as the more expensive 1700 models. ie could i upgrade the cpu to say a t9300 in a years time.

Yes, just like the V1500 with 256meg graphics option, upgrade the bios and stick a bigger cpu in it. I put a T9300 in mine supplied with Celeron cpu.

Thanks for the reply, and thanks for posting all these deals, i have been looking for a laptop for about 6 weeks now.

Budget was always around the 500 pound mark, and was annoyed with myself when i missed the vostro 1700 t8100 cpu deal you posted a few weeks back.
