what happened to dell doing on site warranties on all vostros as standard, they now seem to only come with collect and return as standard and they are charging an extra £40 for on site warranties...??

A sign of the times.

I have this machine, on 15hours a day, handles everything I throw at it (which is a lot) and is a great workhorse

Id expect a bigger hard drive but seems like an ok deal.

Is there am option for a faster processor (coudl not see one on site)?
Also does anyone now if it is very quiet ? Finally I am presuming the free upgade to Windows 7 still applies...

Thanks very much for this. I ordered 2 machines yesterday for a business yesterday. Luckily the payment didn't go through (had a call from my bank who thought it may have been a fraudulent transaction). Placed the same order again today and saved £125!!!

Have some heat&rep!!

Can anyone tell me what the (technical) difference is between this and the one posted a while ago (the AMD quad core at £350ish)???

Cheers

That was a misprice!

also if your interested / geeky
the Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 fully supports hypervisor, so with somthing like xen center you could run this as 4seprate pc's with 1 GB Ram or two duel core systems
Home PC / Home server / Media center etc all on one box

Ordered....

Not the best deal we've seen recently.

Hmmm. I ordered one of those - it didn't look like a misprice at the time - although I can't find the posted deal on here. Anyhoo, Dell have taken my money.............what is interesting is that the estimated delivery has JUST slipped from it's original 13/7/09 to 24/7/09...........

My father-in-law ordered a Dell laptop last year and the delivery schedule slipped like this too until in the end he cancelled it as he could walk into PC World and get a laptop for the same price and spec and walk away with it.

So, in my experience, Dell are sh*t at delivering - and there's no point in a good deal if you can't actually lay your hands on what you're buying.

I'm quite annoyed now. :x:whistling:

And what do you get out of Dell Europe when they mess up...................Sweet FA!

Now in the far east they are a little more forgiving (with a push in the right direction)

It's @ hotukdeals.com/ite…php?t=428941&page=7

Been buying Dell's for over 10 years and this is the longest wait -ever. Saying that it's still within the delivery schedule so I've no reason to think it's not arriving.
