Nice price but just 3 hrs battery life! Almost laughable.

the intel m3 is the new name for celeron lol jeez had to look it up. Okay …the intel m3 is the new name for celeron lol jeez had to look it up. Okay so the tdp is lower but still at the end of the day its a crappy celeron. They need to stop making these. Would definitely not pay £450 for this! total rip off. Yeah you get an ssd, then again its only 128gb so you will be changing it out to a 256gb or higher sooner or later anyway. voted COLD

No idea where you looked that up then as that's completely wrong; Core m3 is the ultra low power version of the Core i3, formerly Core M and Core Y-series before that (in the Haswell era). And the 'Celeron is crap' joke hasn't existed since the early 2000s, things have moved on and so should you...

It is in fact the identical CPU to that in the Retina MacBook 12" 2016, the Core m3-6Y30, a Skylake-class CPU.

do not buy this my work provided these as a trial to make things more portable. They are terrible, battery life is shocking and the touch screen is woeful

Yea I was excited when I first saw it thinking this would be great but after reading a few reviews was dissapointed.
Not a great configuration for that price.

The 1080p model gets closer to 6 hours than 3. That said I wouldn't go for this configuration, I'd pick up a used m5 with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD. If I really didn't care about battery life I'd even go for the UHD model. Oh also the dual thunderbolt 3 ports come in handy.
Unusual device. Amazing keyboard but very reflective screen and bizarre/awkward docking mechanism/cover/stand arrangement. That latter is just a deal breaker for me:

For £300 it might be worth a punt but not for £450 - it just seems like an experiment device by Dell that they didn't get quite right. I just know this device would annoy the hell out of me over time.

It's the exact same chip as the M7 Skylake Core M chip with 4MB cache and HT but they disable Turbo Boost so it's limited to 2.2GHz. As these are TDP limited to about 1.5GHz under full load it will match the M7 under load but miss the Turbo Boost that the M5 and M7 get which are around 2.7 to 3.1 but only briefly due to TDP constaints.

I'm not sure it will be £300 any time soon, but I know a few options for less ;-)
Try to get a refurbished one. Currently have the 4k, 256gb ssd, m5 and 8gb ram. Got it without the keyboard for £369 then later one bought it. True that battery life is around 3h but the 4k screen is gorgeous for bedtime pc at least.

Probably MCSCom. These are good devices in their own right, but not really Surface competitors or anything.
I wish this deal is available last week...decision had been made.....

Ebay, it also had 12 months warranty.
