Might be a stupid question but is this worth it at this price?

Probably the best ultra book you can get

Shame it's not the 4K one. Great laptop though

TBH, I don't think you need 4K for a 13 inch screen. I regret about getting a 4K for my 15 inch everyday
It can be a drag for the gpu as well, and tend to be heavier and more expensive.
Not to mention all the headache when you are connecting to an external monitor that has a normal DPI (especially on Linux)! It is such a PITA.

But in terms in value for money at this price wha would you say?
Guessing this is not the touch version?

In terms of raw specs I personally feel it’s a good deal, but as mentioned the XPS 13 is considered one of the best for battery, keyboard and build quality.

You can get similar specs for cheaper albeit in a bigger form factor, so if portability is your thing then I would say this is a great deal (obviously as I posted it).

You can look around for something cheaper but you will end up compromising in something. If you want something portable, with great build quality and that gets the job done go for this one. In four years time you will still be using it and you won't regret the money you have spent for it.
If anyone wants..might be able to give you the 10% code 😁
What a great deal. I've ordered with the 10% off been after an XPS for years!

I also used a 10% code, came to about £1042 I believe, cracking price. Glad I settled after watching/reading so many Ultrabook reviews. Enjoy
Try DAESAVE14 as the code, should be 14% off Monday 4th to 6th only.

I have used an XPS 13 laptop for the past 4 years. It is so good I wished it would die now so I can buy a newer model. It hasn't let me down and still rocks 3.5 hours battery life despite a daily usage. Some keys have been worn away completely (shift, ctrl) but other than that, still a workhorse.

TLDR: Expensive but totally worth it. The MacBook of Windows
Decent, had been pretty much set on a surface book, but equiv spec is a lot more than this, and knowing my luck they'll release the SB3 a week after I purchase.
I have a 2017 Dell 7370 laptop with the infinity edge screen, it's a lovely piece if kit, so this xps is going to be even better.

You can get 6% topcashback on Dell products currently too.
"Dell 27 InfinityEdge Monitor - S2719H - 68.6cm(27") Black" - included in price? Do these come with a 27" screen as well do they?
We have inherited my daughter's from about 5 years ago which is still performing excellently, though slightly larger due to a frame around the screen. Both of the children have updated versions from about a year ago. No problems except for my son's keyboard which stopped working after he put it in his bag with a leaking juice bottle..... £35 + a couple of fiddly hours to replace.

It's hard to gauge from Amazon as there's so many varieties of the laptop, each with varying specs and performance. For example, the Full HD screen gets you a rather large boost in battery life over the 4K screen.
What MacBook is this the equivalent of?
its a shame only 1 year warranty for a 1k+ laptop

If you dont mind a slight bigger and heavier laptop, I would go for the Latitude.
I got one brand new on Ebay for 700 (and at the time I got the 15% discount from ebay). Same specs, just a tiny bit bigger (it's 14" after all) and the ram is not soldered. I am going to backpack around the world and I am taking the Latitude with me, so weigh is important and is really light.

It's not a stupid question. It's the ideal ultrabook for many reasons, though I just ended up using HP Elitebook 820 and Lenovo ThinkPad X250s for a fraction of the price - I found that while I'd love an XPS 13, I'd end up molly-coddling it and carrying tons of protective padding, whereas the Elitebooks and ThinkPads are so tough they can be tossed in a rucksack without much afterthought.
is this finished? thx.

good price

While I get your point, xps and latitude aren’t really the same.
I'd say expired, when selecting monitor price does not reduce. It would have been a mistake the monitor being included.
