Comes up as 2GB for me:-

"2GB NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 540M Graphics Card [Included in Price]
Great Battery life, Great Performance!"

from what i've heard the 1080p screen is worth having over the normal screen. sadly it makes it too expensive for me

I could not stack the coupon. When I added the code of 15% off, the 514 just disappered.

Worked OK in my basket last night. Was going to order today, but the main Dell £514 discount (and similar discounts for other XPS) dissapears from the basket (irrespective of whether you put the 15% coupon in) though it's still on the site and "discount details". Dell acknowledge a problem, but didn't seem too willing to fix it.

I bought this model with the 2.0Ghz processor and 640Gb hard drive, but with 8GB RAM.
It's punchy!!

One bit of advice though. Dell Customer Services = not that great. They try but are not quick or knowledgeable enough.

I checked it out too, just to see if it would work, and it disapplied the £514 discount for me too, maybe it can be ordered over the phone, if they're not willing to fix the problem online.

hurts my EGO to go back down to a 32" after my 103" (Had to be done). Otherwise great deal, howmuch is the upgrade to 8gb ram? you can get 4gb ddr3 204pin ram for around £20 these days so could cheaply upgrade yourself

I added it all to my basket and then added the codes and it works fine.

They should be paying me £619.64 to have this computer with that installed!

But in all seriousness, it's a fantastic machine and the 1080p screen is worth it, I cannot stress just how much better an experience owning the computer with that screen is and before anyone says anything, I've owned both the 768p and 1080p B+RGLED displays and wouldn't give up the improved one.

As to the 1GB vs. 2GB video RAM you can't use more than 1GB properly on this GPU anyway as the GPU itself is the bottleneck way before you'd start to consume that kind of memory.

You know, you can hook laptops to an external display of whatever size tickles your fancy. Most laptops are merely desktop replacements. I'm pretty sure you don't tug your 17' laptop around with you to use on the train, cafe, etc...

Yes, just worked for me with 05FV?WBR79QQ9T in place of 5693$1C50PXQMJ for the 15% (and free delivery code above) (thanks to tontonjule on other XPS thread) : hotukdeals.com/dea…501.

These codes don't work on the outlet site sadly, anyone know how to get free delivery from outlet?

just bought mine today, don't forget to buy through Quidco for an extra 8% cashback, gives an extra £41.31 off

Fully agree I bought the 1080 screen too!

Same here and been trying to order

I had the same buffering problem, i figured a way around after 2 days! ok goto quidco to make sure you get the 8% cashback. Then go to dell website, select For Home (if not already on it), choose Laptops on the top bar and hover over, Compare All Laptops and click. Then filter on the left for 15inch screens and i7 processor. There will be 2 left, choose the £749 one, an click Add to Cart. You can then apply the voucher codes and adjust if necessary.

PS. After ermming and arghing for 2 days, I have decided against this due to build quality (bad previous dell experience although admittedly a long time ago) and fan noise is too high as my cousin just bought one! Still a fantastic deal

I'm gonna go for Sony, they are doing half price off processor and memory upgrades so can get an i7 2.8GHZ (more powerful than this) with 8GB RAM for about £800.Still trying to get the price lower on Sony website, but just trust the build quality as my previous Sony has been brill!
