This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

I can confirm that £75 Amex credit for buying via the Dell Outlet worked and has been credited to my card today. Also £8 quidco.

Its not the highest spec for the money, nor is it new, but I think if your after a quality laptop then this is as good as it gets. Very easy to upgrade the components too.

Arn't these like twice this price new, anyone think this is a good deal, anyone with experience of buying a refurb from Dell?
Not a great price. I got the 4k touchscreen version back in Jan for £750.

Second hand off eBay but this is a refurb so it's relevant.

its basically a slightly bigger version of the XPS ultrabook which is regarded as one of the best laptops in this market sector, rivalling macbooks at a much cheaper price.

And yes, ive bought Dell refurb units, some unopened, some with a mark undernethe or something negligable. I'd have little hesitation about going for it and price/perfoemance wise it make a lot of sense (obviously depends on what your needs/use for it are)
I mean it’s not a bad price but not too hot either, meh!

It is a solid machine. It is very easy to upgrade the SSD and memory. Probably among the best built Windows/Linux machines in the market. A big plus is the 4 lane TB3. I prefer the FHD screen on this one to the 4k one. I also like that it does not use the lower spec ultra low voltage CPU. It is not the cheapest one for sure, but you pay for the premium for the build quality. If you are happy with i5, it is a good option for a 14 inch.

Does it have room to easily add a mechanical drive for storage?

Think it’s m.2 only

Yep. Only the smaller battery version has space for a SATA drive.
Trust these will get cheaper once the new 10th gen high speed ram xps laptops and alienwares come out

This is a crazy high price for a laptop more so for one with just a 1050 in it, and refurbished on top of that.

Yes your right, this is a quality machine though, it’s a bit like buying a second hand Audi or bmw car when you could buy a Dacia new for the same price. Refurbs should be customer returns and are last years stock. The current versions of this sell for around £1400 to £2000 dependant on spec. You can play games on this at medium to high settings, but it’s the quality of the screen, keyboard, chassis etc which are the selling points. Check out the reviews for this laptop above and reviews generally and you will find this and the lennovo x are best in this class. Those gaming laptops with a gtx 1060 etc really compromise in other areas of build. Costco sell a Dell Legion for £600 new, with a good spec, This is a better product though.

This isn't a plastic gaming laptop. It's an ultrabook on steroids and it's a pretty cheap one.

Comes with a full Dell on site warranty and the refurbs are usually close to new so not comparable to a typical generic second hand one from a random ebay seller.
The XPS 9570 has so many issues including overheating. Just google it to see. Doesn’t surprise me they always have plenty of refurbs of these.
I have to say i love dell xps and there refurbs are great, full warranty and all the ones i have bought have been as good as new. I have suspicions that they were actually new as everything was wrapped every time as they are when new. As for the discount though, i would always hand on for the 20% sale, it's not often and you have to be quick to get an xps as they go first. The 12% is no big deal as you can always get 10% as a new or returning customer so it's really only 2%
It comes out at £934 for me (after code) - the link didn't take me to the laptop directly as well.

EDIT: Sorry, that's without the VAT! VAT is +£200 - way off the price. I would appreciate to hear from the @OP what to do to get the price posted

Yes I missed the ultrabook part, guess it might be part of the reason why it's refurbished, gaming/heat and thin form factors don't go well together, i would be surprised if this thing makes it past two years in the hands of a half serious gamer, not that one would game on a 1050.

There's still one in stock with that price, you need to select the 'scratch and dent' one. This link should take you there:

its 959.51, ad the voucher for 12% off to get 844 above. Do via Quidco for an extra 1%. I’m going to swop the ssd for a 500gb WD 3500 read etc, up the ram to 16gb dual rank and last change the Wi-Fi card for a new Wi-Fi 6 card. I will keep the ssd in another pc and sell the unwanted bits. It’s £100 of upgrades, but the performance will be top notch. Very easy to up grade this.

You are right, but that's just normal for most of the non-Apple laptops I am afraid. At the moment I own MBP, this one with i7 4k, a XPS 13, Lenovo T and X, MS SB, MS SP, I am just speaking from my experience so far. I have also owned ASUS, Acer, HP, etc. recently.
With this particular one, you can either put it on a cooling pad or slightly reduce the clock with software. You can improve the heat dissipation yourself if you feel like it It is not a big problem tbh.

Thanks £799 pre-VAT. I didn't see that. They are not very verbose about why such a price difference - another is £959 pre-VAT. Any ideas?
Can anyone confirm if the Amex £75 credit works on the Dell Outlet store?
Thanks.
