Depends on what your buying. If it's a desktop which is bunged under a desk somewhere, a scratch or dent isn't going to be a factor, but if you're a poser who likes to have a Costa in one hand, while facebooking on your Dell Inspiron, well then you'll want it in pristine.... ya dig?

Had me thinking for a second there that I was looking at the back of a new Dell smartphone with GTX 1080 onboard graphics.

This is a pretty good deal considering you get a keyboard, mouse and onboard wifi too, if this also comes with some sort of dell warranty/support then it's a scorcher!

Might be a bit harder to replace the 460W PSU since it will most likely be an OEM one. I think are adapter cables available on ebay that let you use a third party branded PSUs with an OEM board.

Could also sell the RAM that this comes with and use the money to buy faster ones, e.g. 3000MHz

Still one of the best gaming CPUs you can get.

Scratch and Dent usually means some marks or dings on the outside only cosmetic damage.
I have placed 2 previous orders through the dell outlet with the condition mentioned as scratch and dent. Both times i have received brand new machines without a single mark on them.

Personally i dont mind it as i ordered for the specs not the looks.
Superb deal. Bought a scratch and dent laptop a few years back and it had one minor scratch on the bottom so was barely noticeable. Well worth the risk IMO.
OOS??
I purchased a scratch and dent XPS8910 earlier this year, not a mark on it still had all the covering attached as well.

So it is highly likely that there will be no marks on it, if there are just send it back.
I wish I could afford it
Tempted .. around £500 for a GTX 1080 another £100+ for ram ... could not build a pc for this price.. Top deal like to see if anyone could build a PC for this price .. HOT from me

I've bought a few Scratch and Dents are it will very likely be marked but probably not badly.

Do you think that still represents value for money? I need to get a gaming rig for my lad and to be honest, I'm lost, this looks really good, but I've read that the AMD Ryzen are better value and more future proof?
Can be had for cheaper, but i won't spoil it for those who bought this...
Scratch and dent is just like scratch and sniff but less smelly.

My scratch and dent's from Dell have mostly been brand new with one exception where the desktop had clearly been used for a month.

Ok, I suspect a few cancelled orders, but here goes:
Vouchercodes £15 cashback on a £675 spend.

There is also another stackable way which is cheaper, but that's not public

It seems that the cheaper ones have been bought. The cheapest certified refurbished is £1009.30 or the cheapest new one is 1059.32

Do note the prices are before adding VAT and applying the discount.

You need to add them to the cart and apply the coupon to get the exact price

Ryzen is great for multitasking stuff such as Music Production, Video Editing, etc... I'd say go for Intel because most games are optimized for Intel. Ryzen can probably run most of them as well as intel, but every now and then you'll get AMD issues on some games not running properly, which barely happens on intel.

This is a great deal, considering a 7700k is 300 on its own, and a 1080 is around the 500 range!
I got a scratch and dent laptop a couple of years ago almost half price. I'm still looking for the scratch or dent

This is pretty much "best you can get". You could build an equivalent machine using ryzen for slightly less but you wouldn't be saving or gaining much.

Don't put too much stock in "future proof". Let's say you have the machine 5 years and for the first 2 years it is outperformed by the current leader, next two years they are level pegging and the last year developers are optimising for new technology and they're both outdated.
I've purchased from Dell Outlet before buying a laptop that was sold with scratches or dents. There was no dents and the scratches you could hardly notice them.

I have to admit, I can't argue with those specs to the £. A custom build will definitely cost a little more. for that I vote this Hot.

That being said, I would worry about the quality of the PSU and expandability of the motherboard. Given the CPU is a K series, I will definitely want to put a custom CPU cooler in there and overclock. What will that mean for the Dell warranty on the unit? Definitely worth researching this before buying
Bear in mind this is the old soggy 7th generation.
For just £75 you can get the 8th gen i7 (6-cores, as opposed to this deals bog standard 4-cores) and a New one at that without scratches or claw marks
