This ecode is the cheapest M1530 available for June so far but if you are interested in more ram, bigger hard drive and bluetooth, you might want to consider N0615353 at £60 more.

nice one, and 5% on quidco as well

Hi Mike.
Is it correct that the 8600m gt you can upgrade this to will be the ddr3 version, not the ddr2 as fitted with the vostro etc.I have been reading that the ddr3 is noticably faster. My son will want it for playing some games. Many Thanks.

Yes this has historically had the faster ram version.

This does look like a good deal, especially given how cheap it is to upgrade RAM at the moment (though I'd run XP so not necessary).

Is the 15" WUXGA screen worth it or not? I heard Dell high res monitors were grainy, is this true? Also can't see what the brightness rating in nits is. My current laptop is 1400x1050, and I don't really want a lower res than that.

cheers again mike
i am interested in the better model N0615353 , can you tell me where to search for this link have tried search in hukd to no avail?
also does anyone know the lead times at present for this model
thx to all you informative people

Its Worth upgrading the Ram to 2gb for only £12.76+vat. A 160Gb hard drive upgrade is only £8.51+vat.

I don't understand why this hasn't had more interest, seems a good deal to me, i guess the 1510 for £292 has diverted attention away from it.

see forum.notebookreview.com/sho…640 for grainy screen info
seems the problem is with some samsung panels especially 1680x1050. The LG panels are OK
If you configure and save your basket and email it to you you can see which panel you'll be getting

By the way you may want to hang fire as the M1535 is due for release latre this month
