He got the PC from a deal like this one, the graphics card was £60 on eBay, not the whole thing.

£55 more to upgrade to a 480Gb SSD. I think with ITZOO they simply fit new drives whether HDD or SSD (solid-state) and Windows 10 is brand-new, clean install ...

For £55 extra you might as well keep the 250gb one and buy a 500gb one as well.

True, but it's not a difficult procedure to learn. Screw in a few screws and connect a few cables.
Remember that unlike older systems these will also take an M.2 NVMe SSD (or 2 in the 5050/7050) once you've patched the BIOS. You don't need the cables then :-)

Will get one of these when I get one for a ridiculous price on eBay, sticking with my 9020 until then. Heat though - good price!

      ah good Times, good times....
I paid £132 delivered for a refurbished I5-6500 Lenovo M900 SFF PC with Windows 10 Pro, 4GB ram and a 500GB hard drive, plus a wifi & bluetooth card a few months ago won in an ebay auction.

I guess an extra £60 for a SSD & extra 4gb isn't too bad, although I thought I'd bid a little high after looking at what similar models were going for at the time.
I've got an R570 GPU sitting in a box doing nowt after an impulse buy earlier this year - will I be able to fit it into this?
Anyone know if the RAM is dual channel?

      No
      Thanks
Any tips on sources for 16GB or 32GB RAM upgrades for this? The spec looks look but I tend to run a couple of VMs plus occasionally Android emulators and the RAM goes pretty quickly :0(
Price shows as £209.99 plus you have to add another £25 for Windows 10.

You need to use the code for 10% discount and £25 is for Pro version of win 10.

Are you sure your mates son had the exact same model (the description says "Dell Optiplex 3050 SFF")? Only I do have the SFF (Small Form Factor) version of this PC and the only slot that can accommodate a GPU is adjacent to the PSU leaving only enough room for a single slot, half-height unit. All the 1050Ti half-height cards available I could find were double slot.

I shoved a GT 1030 in mine which makes for a great machine that is perfectly fine for my needs. But if potential buyers are looking for a cheap gamer offering more FPS than this card can provide, I'd suggest they look elsewhere.
My mum ordered one of these and I told here she would need a DisplayPort adaptor for her VGA monitor to plug into the DisplayPort "8" on the picture.
Now it's really odd but on the spec "9" is marked as a serial port but the picture she has sent me clearly shows a VGA monitor port.
Number "9" on the spec does not even look like a traditional serial port.

This is what my mum got and it has a VGA monitor port not a serial port.

Looks like there are two versions one with a VGA port and one with serial, it appears to be an option.

It's not the monitor that's the problem, more and more base units are being made without a VGA outlet, demonstrated by this very model that does not come with VGA as standard (see right hand picture above), wherever this "refurbished" stock came from, they must have ordered VGA output as an optional extra.

A VGA to DisplayPort or HDMI adaptor is very cheap (£2.50) and will get you out of trouble but it's the down time if you don't have one to hand.
