This is a different device type and model with a 12.5 ich screen for the same money. It's like comparing a hatchback with an SUV. There's also a big difference between seller refurbished and manufacturer refurbished in my experience.

Looks like the ones which were £249 before the discount are all gone. These are refurbished so there's limited availability but they get new stock in all the time so keep checking back. They have promo codes on the site but there are also other codes about such as the JANDEAL4 which was on Quidco. There is also 3% Quidco cashback which actually made this deal about £194.

Feel free to post up any better deals.

I managed to get one of these for £160 after the 20% discount, if you put the service code in to the Dell website it shows they were laptops sold in Germany. I finally got a fresh install of Windows 10 to work after receiving a partition error during the install, I had to update the BIOS and change the boot option to legacy. It would appear the laptop originally shipped with Windows 8 as it has a Windows 8 sticker underneath

I keep missing these deals :-( good luck to anyone who got this

The first LTSB version of win 10 is 2015 which is what a lot of enterprise customers will using so I'm not surprised it came with Win 7.

Looks a decent spec apart from the horrible screen resolution, The only other issue really would be the condition of the battery and how long it will last.

Must have been an odd one as nothing less than £350 now

Actually I saw it last week at £199 with the 30% off code but didn’t bother posting as I didn’t think there would be that much interest in this model..... and the fact it was Dell. How wrong can you be :) i didn’t buy one as I already have this laptop brand new from Dell for around £130 with a 3 year warranty bought about 3 years ago...those where the days when a Dell deal was a real deal. Its still going strong.

I don't know for sure, but I think they upped the price to £219 very same time the code released, someone would have posted at that day if it was £139..

This laptop was £199 a few days ago. There was a 30% discount code posted which only got 164° heat. I can't remember if they had this laptop marked as clearance then, as the code wouldn't have applied, but if it wasn't then it would have cost £139.30.

They often include picture of the box, it still doesn't mean they were unopened though..

these should be around £100 for 5 yr old laptop regardless of who has refurb'ed them.

Laptop from early 2014, so 5-year old technology here.

Good point. That's why the refurbished laptops on Dell Outlet ( are more expensive than the ones on However this is still a good deal considering the laptop is in a good condition. Has anyone ordered from here in the past and care to comment on what condition they received theirs in, e.g cosmetic signs of use etc. thanks.

Have gone for the spill proof and gorilla glass education edition for 199 for my some to use at school. He works kill most laptops within days!

I was going for the E6440 as I need a minimum clock speed of 2.5ghz for a specific program and that would have been ideal but they are out of stock unfortunately.

I've skipped better than this lot many years back.

They have 276 laptops out there but none of them has 1920x1080 display? Seems bit odd :/

Got mine this week. Was needing day to day cart horse for none gaming and this is going to do job. Straight forward up grade to W10, 8gb in as it came with 4 but I had spare memory and ssd on order. Mine was immaculate. One tiny scratch on lid and that was it. For 144 a bargain. That said you won't need a gym membership as it is very heavy lol

Just got mine how do you upgrade to windows 10 for free please there’s no option and Microsoft wanna charge loads

Cheers - I'll give it a go !!!

Use this when you run it will detect no w10 and offer upgrade

Actually it was a different one but that thread would be an interesting read. Thanks for your help (y) It would be bonus if it worked like the E7440.

This isn't helped with different configurations internally either. I don't want to mislead you into spending money but I configured a E7450 a few months ago with both drives and shipped it off. The only machines I have nearby are E7440 though. It looks like a 42mm M.2 2242 SSD might fit (I have a Liteon 128GB one of these as I put it in an HP 840 G3). Was this the thread you saw?

Thanks for your prompt response. Just that the searches I have checked seemed to indicate that it only works on E7240 model. The E7250 I have ordered have 256GB mSATA which will no doubt be installed in the 2.5" bay on the left in the pic of the E7250 innards. Where you can see there is instead an WWAN HCA card slot in place of where you put the mSATA SSD in the E7440.

Yes, I had a look at an internal teardown, it appears to have both on the integrated GPU version, best to watch a teardown video, but if it has a 2.5" HDD, there should be a slot for an SSD too. The E7240/50 is mSATA only. mSATA is a bit of a pain to find but if you can they are pretty good value - having SSD and HDD is a huge bonus to me. I read it might be M.2 now but I don't have one to hand to open up.

Hi, do you know if the E7450 takes mSATA and HDD simulataneously too? Just ordered a refurb and I have a spare 1TB 2.5" that can come in handy.

Mine also arrived to. Did have time to set it up. Looked to me like new old stock. Best laptop deal I've ever bought. Cheers again to the OP

Arrived today in A1 condition, absolutely like new, upgraded to Wndows 10 without any issue or faffing around with keys so very pleased.

DECDEAL4 for the 7450 is actually 30% when used. Just picked one up for £279.

It'll likely be worth putting in an SSD. My Lenovo laptop became a slug, boot times were easily 5 minutes, despite trying everything to make it more acceptable. Installed an SSD and if it takes 30 seconds now, that's possibly a conservative estimate. I'm going to do the same with my desktop. Just waiting on the SSD coming in the post.

Good CPU and specs minus the screen. If new at this price would be good but being a refurb of what is still a dated laptop. Cold.

Its got an SSD according to the title

any suggestions of other good buys of a Windows 7 laptop ?

SSD with a true quad core...looks good to me. Poor screen res but still good.

Agreed. If this was 300 I'd say hot but not at this price.

Huge thanks cavemana. Needed a good laptop for a family member and this one was perfect. eBay seller has 100% feedback as well.

This is the lowest spec version I've seen of this laptop. Mine was an i5, 1080p screen and SSD. Great machine for work that lasted me 4 years before upgrading. With slightly different specs mine was 1.35kg Can't say I experienced that on mine. The underside could get hot after hours of working, but I didn't have issues with fan noise. I just wish the 7280 I have now could run quiet - damn thing sounds like a hairdryer when doing only simple tasks.

This must be a pretty old model? I have the E7440 and I've had it for bloody ages. Great machine though. Never strayed from Latitudes and never been disappointed.

I have a latitude 12 E7240 with an i5, 8gb ram and 256gb ssd and hardly every used it because the fan noise and heat were irritating. The chassis just seems too thin for the cooling it needs but its ridiculous to have that amount of fan noise and heat when it's a ulv processor and integrated graphics.

I have the E7440, with I7 and 16GB memory, best laptop I've had, very lightweight which is why I bought it, never had any issues. You might find some of them have Msata drives 256Gb Would reccomend
