Worth it over a conventional microwave?

What's the difference between this and a std microwave? I'm looking for one with a grill but this looks like the normal run of the mill ones I've had for years?

This will also cook like a normal gas/electric oven so it will roast a chicken etc.

Looking at the questions and answers the sizes quoted are way out for this (which is good for me as I have a small space). It also says in the Q and A that it does have a grill (comment by someone who bought it), yet Argos staff had said it didn't. Weird that it hasn't got a full description of what it does.

Can anyone find the manual or anything online? The De'Longhi website doesn't even have ANY microwaves on.

I doubt it has a 31.5cm diameter rotating turntable.

From a quick search, De'Longhi have a business agreement with Argos allowing the use of the De'Longhi name. So I'd assume this microwave is made by Argos and only branded a De'Longhi. Can't find any favourable reviews of any of the microwaves. I'd avoid this.

I have brought this microwave & can confirm that it does have a grill (the grill element is at the top of the oven) its stainless steel throughout including the interior & the casing

Do you have the external dimensions?

Yeah they are the same as stated in the description, H30.62, W49.8, D51.3cm but be mindful that the back of the microwave is large, think of the old school tvs with that big back that sticks out!
Ive replaced my old 25L with this and find this takes more worktop space depth wise than my old one

Is it any good though mate? I'm the same as p3rks as the rebranding totally puts me off.

I think its good value for money as most of the others don't have a stainless steel interior which was one of the reasons I brought it as the old micro I had was enamelled which rusted & peeled away after time, also the others I checked out didn't have a stainless steel casing like this one, as they are just painted silver, and if anything does go wrong with it within the 12 months guarantee period, I will be taking it straight back to Argos for a refund ;-)

I personally don't rate this brand at all. Panasonic or Samsung is my advice.

The cheapo Panasonic combis are rubbish too - they use the same element as the grill in combi/oven mode so it's not a bona fide fan oven and burns everything on top.

I tried both the Panasonic NN-CT552WBPQ and NN-CT555WBPQ models and both of them died on me in combi mode. Both also had condensation inside the glass, which was a bit worrying! (Common faults if you read Amazon reviews).

I posted on HUKD's Ask forum at the time and RustySpoons recommended this one with a fan oven - Panasonic NN-CF778SBPQ amazon.co.uk/Pan…QS4

Went for the "Premium" oven in the end, built like a tank, fan oven, flatbed and large capacity, very pleased. amazon.co.uk/d/G…AY6

My reckoning is that you get what you pay for with these Combi Ovens, the bargain basement ones are best avoided.

roary is it a quartz grill or heater element type?thanks

I had an earlier model of this, it survived over 5yrs with kids & several house moves, one of the best purchases I've ever made- so when it went & I saw this thread absolutely no hesitation in buying the updated model. If you're not a brand snob then I recommend this highly. Cheers hhali

HI, its the usual element grill

Hi roary, I'm hoping you can help me. I've recently bought the same microwave as you but it has no instructions, 2 recipe books yes, but no good if I don't know how to use it! I contacted delonghi who said hey don't sell microwaves anymore, I tried Argos, they said try delonghi! The microwave has been discontinued and they have none in store where I got it or online to copy the instructions from. Could I ask if you can help at all? I would be really grateful, otherwise I'm going to have to return it as I can't find a thing online about it! Thanks for reading this message

If anyone bought this can you please let me know as I have no instructions for this and neither Argos or delonghi can help me ☹️

Nope!

Was there a particular operation you need assistance with or did you want manual for general info? I have this microwave but not a manual

sorry for the late reply guys, mine did not come with instructions either but I'm trying to get hold of a copy too!

General info really. It's got to go in quite a small space so I wanted to see what the manual recommended for space to leave around it and also just to read about the different functions available to see if it suited my needs.

Found mine, so general info.....
11. A minimum clearance of 12inches (30cm) must be left above the oven. Is all that applies that I can see.

Thanks, as I thought! What I don't understand is you can get integrated Combination Microwaves so how would that leave any space around it? Is the 30cm space above strict and likely to be a hazard if I don't obey it does anyone know?

Rear against the wall but one side must be open. Level surface. Enough space for intake/outlet vents. Standard stuff, no special requirements far as I can see.

I think it's to let heat escape probably more than ventilation, so it would depend on how you intend to use it & ventilation to the side(s). If ventilation is good & you only intend to use it as microwave & short cooking times (pizza for example which this cooks pretty darned good!) then I would take the risk- but it may invalidate your warrantee.

Im looking for basic usage instructions for each option please( microwave/grill & oven) if you can?
