I bought a small inexpensive dehumidifier from Argos. Possibly noisier than these but I only run it during the day when the bedroom is empty.

Is that the £99 one? See I'm not sure if I should just get one like that, DEM10 is very similar with slightly bigger tank and anti frost @£110 then my mind thinks get the DES12 then DES14 etc as the price differences aren't much...
my one has got argos value range on the label but it's bigger than that one they have now.
it's this one hotukdeals.com/dea…022

it's knee high

my friend just bought a delonghi heater, it has a good warranty on it from delonghi.
Can get these in a couple of place for the same sort of price.

Have a look at aircondirect.co.uk. It appears a decandesant type is quietier than the compressor type if noise is an issue.
We had a delonghi, unit failed after a couple of years (only used during the winters) just out of warranty too! - replaced with an Ebac - rock solid 5 year warranty for free when bought online too!

I bought a DES10 from Argos.. failed just out of warranty too. have bought a Duratec one from Amazon.
I have 3 Dem 10's 1 is 6 years and going strong 1 failed on the pcb after 3 years, There ok noise wise just turn them off at night, My 1st unit from 1997 combi heater unit has just started to fail.

Dem 10 used for drying clothes, Compressor type better, All units work the same as taking a can from the fridge and see it get wet,

As above Ebac is the company that has fronted Dehums for years

Just testing their 5 year warranty, bought one 4 years ago direct, packed up on me last week, Ebac said a courier would collect Thursday, they never arrived, now say they will collect Monday. Can't see them repairing and getting back to me before Xmas now.
For my business I just bought a Mitsubishi from this company(now sold out) aircondirect.co.uk/Mit…asp
More expensive than Ebac but so far very impressed, it has to work down to almost freezing temps, Ebac don't do that well, Mitsubishi are made for lower temps.

Thanks for the feedback guys really appreciate it.

It appears these things require a long term warranty then.

Still stumped as to what to do, the ebacs are more expensive.... Just wanted to spend max £150...The ebacs need filters changed too..
