Hmm, how does this differ with the 2800 one? (on AO).
Good price , I have had this machine for 6 weeks I love it. Very easy to use . I only make black coffee so no experience of milk. Economical on beans. Makes the best coffee totally addictive.
Great machine. Got mine over a year ago and still going strong. Makes fantastic coffee. Good price for this.

Same internals, just different styling. I'd save the £30 and get the 2800 unless you particularly like the looks of the 4200.

Great machine. Got mine over a year ago and still going strong.

Mine is coming up 6 years old in May and still works fine.
have some HEAT! cheapest ive seen this model in a long long time. Great machine,
Great price. I've had mine for a few years now and I LOVE If you're on the fence about buying, jump in. Spend a few weeks finding a bean that you particularly like (I get the Waitrose ones because of price and ease of buying) and you won't look back. Worth every penny at this price.
If I wanted one that does the milk as well, what would you guys recommend?

This has a milk steamer attached which is the black spout to the right, you can use it to either steam or froth the milk.
We've had one for maybe three years, still going strong. it's used several times daily and works out way cheaper and greener than a pod machine over time.

Frothing milk is a bit of a faff, it's obviously puts out less power than professional baristas have at their disposal so it takes a minute or two, but it works and gives great results.
I brought this machine when it was last on offer with co-op before xmas (£209.99) and I can report after a few months of use thats its a good machine (I use it about 5 times a day) am very pleased with it. Before i had a original style espresso machine and am not missing the cleaning after use each time! - Bean to cup are the way forward!
Can someone who owns one of these tell me how much time the cleaning of these machines takes? And how often.
Many thanks.
On the fence now... Birthday time is coming and I was going to get a Nespresso after trying this in a hotel room recently. I hate weak coffee and the Nespresso impressed me after buying a rubbish tassimo and assuming all pods are poor. This has caught my eye! I can see great reviews, anyone got any constructive comments as one vs other? Cost of actual coffee aside of course!
The code took it down to £214.99, but still a great price. Also 2% Quidco, 5% Co-op credit on membership card and good feeling about helping communities :-) thanks op

This machine cleans itself. You just need to empty the used coffee out after about 8 cups( the machine compressed the used coffee in pellets, so very easy to do.). Only the drip tray clean which comes out easily and can be put in dish washer. Best machine I have ever had! Try with starbucks coffee beans
Got one... no specific delivery date yet. Thanks op
I got one of these before Christmas, it is the best coffee machine I have owned.

Makes great coffee, although I am still experimenting with beans.

You will not regret it

There's a reservoir for spent grinds, you just whip that out and chuck its contents in the bin every time the light comes on. With fairly heavy use I'd say we do that a couple of times a week.

The tray the cup sits on needs to be pulled out and rinsed every now and again, it's not a big job and it's a fortnightly thing, I'd guess.

The innards needs a bit of a wipe out every couple of months or so. You'll have the "descale needed" light come on every few months, perhaps more often if you use the frother a lot. That'll depend on your water hardness. That's a simple process, you just flush the thing through with a chemical then again with clean water afterwards.

All told it's about as low maintenance as you could expect, in my opinion.

I have the cappuccino autentica and it is brilliant, just makes great Latte and Cappuccino
Coupon brings the total down to 214.99 for me.
Had one of these for almost 10 years. Still going strong! Makes great coffee if you find a good source of beans (not supermarket ones, they're always old).
Got mine for free from amazon warehouse. Box was badly damaged so complained expecting 10% off. They gave me a full refund and said I didn't have to return it.
Where do you enter the code?
I bought one of these machines to replace my tassimo machine, it makes fantastic tasting coffee at a fraction of the price, Ive tried Starbucks and costa beans both are great but Aldi's colombian beans are superb plus at a quid a bag you cant go wrong
