Good price. Heat added.

This is great coffee machine. Heat added.

I've got the old version of this machine. For a basic B2C machine its really good - used mine everyday for what must be 7 years now

Great price heat added

Great coffee machine, I own one similar, I think Delonghi should alter the design of the steam wand though as it makes frothing milk a little tricky.

Nice find. We just ordered one :-). We owe you a coffee

Great to see that these are becoming more affordable now.
I've always wanted one, but I've cut down on coffee lately. Otherwise I would have already gone for it.
Heat for the deal of course. Next cheapest I've seen is £75 more at Co-op.

I have this and its fantastic! great find

Cracking price, I paid about £300 for mine a couple of years ago. Used every day for several coffees and it's never missed a beat.

Now head over to ravecoffee.co.uk and get some quality, fresh roasted beans to go with it.

Is the coffee for these machines more expensive than say instant or dolce gusto pods?

Cheaper than pods by far - more expensive than instant but you get what you pay for. The coffee you get from this is great quality - and its freshly ground so not been sitting in a pod for however long.

The better the beans, the better the coffee. That being said you can get a bag of beans for around £3 which will make around 15 cups of coffee.

thanks pal, could you give me an example of a bag of beans for £3. Ordering this one now.

Very good machine!

Paid the same a couple of years ago on Amazon.

Thanks. Have to get one of those soon. Tassimo just does not cut it for me.

It's hard to find really good coffee beans in the supermarkets. One of the most important things in getting a nice coffee is that the beans are reasonably freshly roasted rather than sitting around in bags for weeks. Here are a couple that I've found to be OK:

However, I prefer to buy coffee from specialist shops or online if I'm organised enough. Micro Roastery ( microroastery.co.uk/ ), a small roastery based in Canterbury is well worth trying.

can you use normal sized cups/mugs with this machine? Also what about travel mugs? I've seen a few where you can just about squeeze a cup under the nozzles (is that the right word? :S)

Managed to get mine from a local for £70, think the person didn't know how much they really go for! makes great coffee and I highly recommend it.

yes normal mugs fine. The "nozzle" bit just above the cups in the picture for this post is adjustable. it will slide up if you have larger mugs. The lower/closer it is to the cup the better the crema produced.

My workplace does an 8% Debenhams gift card discount so have just ordered this for £207. Wasn't too sure about paying so much for coffee but it's bound to be worth that given the heat this deal is receiving.

want!!!!

really like delonghi machines, have had one for years and it still makes fab coffee. good deal, well done sir

I saw this earlier and looked a great deal. Just gone to order and now out of stock. Shame

I bout my Delonghi ESAM 2600 at Currys, very similar to this and I'm really pleased with it. Perfect espresso every time. Needs a little bit of getting used to, but nothing complicated really.

There is a minimum spend so buy 7 for £15.80 delivered. Will last you 1-2 years depending on how much you use the machine. I do it every 3 months/300 cups.

paid for Saturday night delivery and never turned up... Looks like it's lost in transit...

[quote=flatlander]missed it grrrrrr

So it arrived shabby box. Makes nice coffee and seems to be well built. Stuffed some beans in there that i got from tesco. Thanks goes out to robz_3000 for teaching a simpleton that tescos sell full sized beans :P . Is there a button i can press to make the coffee hotter? It came out luke warm and very strong. I think there is a hot water only button on there. Happy with the machine and the coffee does taste superior to any thing i've drunk at home.

Ha no problem!

i've found that to get the temperature up, you should leave it machine on for a little while before making a coffee and also pressing the button with the drops of water (next to the eco button) runs a bit of boiling water through the machine and out of the spout, which seems to heat it up! Also froth the milk to around 100 celsius (if you're adding milk) to create a piping hot coffee!

Enjoy your machine, it does take some trial and error but the coffee is fantastic!

Ordered mine on Friday paid extra for next day delivery told it would arrive on Monday . It didn't . Got an email this morning saying they were unable to fulfilling the order. Showing cancelled! No apology bought loads of coffee beans in anticipation of this machine!!

UK MAIL apparently tried to deliver saturday, sunday but failed ... WE WERE AT HOME ALL DAY and our living room is in front of the house, no card nothing anyway ... called uk mail on monday they said they will deliver tonight after 6pm .. called them again and they said driver was earlier and returned parcel to debenhams ... driver had our phone nr etc, did not bother to call ... terrible courier

Get the delonghi descaler. I would not risk the one recommended on this thread. Its more expensive but its for b2ç machines. Uses lactic acid rather than citric. I buy the half ltr bottle and it will do 3 to 4 cycles. Many places I have seen that citric is not good for these machines.

i take it that it makes ground coffee also, or ground from the beans only?

Turn machine off at front but leave on at the rear main switch.
Hold the 1 cup button until the lights below light up
Increase the temperature by pressing the 2 cup button.
Low is on the left and high on the right
By pressing the 2 cup button it will move betwen the 4 settings of temperature available
Once selected req temperature press the one cup button again and it will store the info.
Hope this helps.
