Brilliant price! Did well on here at £243 and then again at £238 but Amazon have just slashed the price of it to £199.99!

I'd get in quickly though if you're after one!

I have this and it's fab! I paid £279 last year though-think this is an absolute bargain to be honest!

Gutted as I paid £299 for machine. It's excellent and well worth money. HOT HOT HOT

Agreed! Doubt it will stay this low for long though. I love the easiness of it all, freshly ground coffee at the touch of a button

Finally cracked and bought one. Thanks OP.

Soooo tempted to ditch the Tassimo and get one of these!

Hot hot hot.

Wow they keep dropping the price of this!

You'll not regret it, honestly it's fab and this is such a great price!

I have a similar Gaggia platinum and love it. Disappointed with some premium beans I bought from Amazon recently. Will stick to Sainsburys own espresso beans.

Yeah me too. I had a camelcamelcamel alert on for £220 anticipating that it'd never be reached

Great find OP - my wife is going to kill me....

You mean thank you tell her you bought it purely to bring her a fresh cup in bed

I had to bite at that price. With a new Jug & some beans it still worked out at £217 : Many, many thanks OP

Not again HUKD!
Now, what beans are the best for this?

It depends what kind of a cup you like really Bulldog. I like it quite strong and Old Brown and Monsoon Malabar are my favourites. Lots of people like Lavazza though, readily available in supermarkets but a bit too weak for me. Can still happily drink them but not my favourite.

They're cracking deeky and this is honestly the best price I've saw. Literally pour in beans, fill water tank (at the side not the back, like some of the models) press a button and go. Plus most importantly it makes smashing, hot coffee!

Damn you karri

To get started you literally need beans. Folk buy the jugs to heat milk for lattes and some buy wee mini whisks etc, depends what you'll be wanting to use it for. Re buying the beans, would you buy them online or in the supermarket?

And what size jug do I need? 3/6/900?
Edited by: "deeky" 21st Mar 2014

I have been thinking of getting one of these for a while pleased that I hung on thanks OP

Roast and Post have a decent selection but not the cheapest, unless you like buying in bulk :P
Edited by: "johnthehuman" 21st Mar 2014

These are good machines, had one for a couple of years and great coffee. there is even the option to use ground decaff if you need a cup late at night.

There were a number of replies in a previous posting of this item for beans some links were given to where you could get freshly roasted. With any luck whoever it was might repost.

is this self cleaning ?

Was about to add this after Camel notified me of the price drop.

Paid 180 for one refurbished 6 months ago for our office of 30 people. It's been getting a good thrashing since with beans from hasbean.co.uk

Excellent for the price.

You can pick these up for around £10 a kilo in supermarkets amazon.co.uk/Lav…3YC and they also do their own bags for around £3.49 (smaller) or 2 for £6, that kind of price. I use a wee shop near us which is fab but have saw here coffee-direct.co.uk/ recommended on here too. I like the local as I know they're fresh. Re the jug, I'm not sure of the measurements deeky but just measured ours (don't say I don't do anything for you :p) and it's 4 inches tall if that helps?

mattmerch

is this self cleaning ?

Yes. You need to clean the drip tray etc of course, but it cleans the coffee mech itself.

hasbean.co.uk is excellent, as are the weekly videos from the owner - inmycup.

It cleans itself too?! Wow.

Need to find the best deal on some Monsoon Malabar and Guatemalan Cloud Forests before Tuesday!

People that say this is an amazing machine. What beans do you use?

Hasn't beaten the Gaggia Unica bean-to-cup machine which was £180 on here, but heat given!

If anyone lives in the Liverpool area (or even if you don't) I can recommend joeblackcoffeeandtea.co.uk/ - £6.50 plus £1.59 delivery for 500g. Hand delivered because I live in Liverpool too and roasted same day

^ Agreed.
