No Mess, no Fuss. Just Great Coffee

Exclusive to NESCAFÉ DOLCE GUSTO, our clever, easy-to-use pod system has been designed so you can enjoy coffee shop quality at home - whenever you want. The NESCAFÉ DOLCE GUSTO Piccolo may be small, but with a maximum 15 bar pump pressure, this machine creates your favourite drinks in a matter of seconds. The maximum 15 bar pressure pump is essential for delivering the golden crema that you get from coffee shop quality coffee.

For maximum freshness, our coffee pods are sealed after the roast has been ground to deliver to you a delicious aroma and full flavour. And with a wide variety of roast & ground coffees, delicious hot chocolate drinks and coffee shop specialties you'll wonder how you ever coped without it.

Because the coffee grinds stay in the pod there is virtually no cleaning either.

With the Piccolo, your drink is ready in 3 simple steps.

1. Pop in a pod
2. Move the lever to hot or cold
3. Stop the water when you're ready

Hey presto, your coffee, your way every time.

Our machines need virtually no cleaning, however a wipe down of the machine and rinse of the capsule holder every few weeks is recommended.

And remember to descale every 3-4 months or 900 uses, to keep your machine working at its best.

Each pod is made differently
for the perfect drink
What Makes our Pods so Smart?

Inside every pod we use carefully selected ingredients. Then we add a little bit of technological magic. Different drinks need different amounts of pressure to release their full flavour. For example, an espresso needs high pressure to release that delicious coffee aroma and taste and milk needs less. So our clever little pods are designed to regulate the pressure so whichever drink you choose, it's made just the way it should be.

Where?

Owned the Melody for just over 2 years and it packed up before Christmas. The coffee it has to be said is very nice, however the cost of the pods coupled with my experience of the reliability of these things means I will not be buying another

when i see these things reduced to a third i wonder why when they claim to be so wonderful

Where?

Mini Me was in Amazon black friday deals at £35 and Amazon Boxing day deals at £40. May come on again...

My wife is very happy with hers (and she likes good coffee....she doesn't like instant much)....coffee shop coffee for about 35-40p a cup. Although she is having three a day at the moment...and it's adding up! She has been browsing through the variety pack trying out all that's on offerer and hasn't found one she doesn't like yet. I've tried the chocolate one and it is really very nice!

Here's a link to the range of pods....they have little videos which show you how each is made which are quite groovy!

range

Just one more thing...the mini me has a 'measure' selector which means you get exactly the right amount of water for each pod..with the piccolo it looks like you do it by eye....not as slick IMO.

How do the Dolce Gusto pods compare to Nespresso?

I got the minime from Tesco for £44.50 yesterday, yes it's a bit more but it's a newer model and seems to be better as you can select how much water you need for each different drink

Because the profit margin is in the pods. Gets the hardware out there and you will have perpetual income from the coffee sales.

On average 48 pods for c.£10 on amazon subscribe and save. Espresso slightly cheaper.

does this do a proper mug of coffe unlike the tassimo or senseo?

It's rather like mobile phones - they make their money from the ongoing spend, not the electronics itself. Having said that, I am a great fan of Tassimo, and use mine everyday. It's all about convenience. I have no problem with some people preferring the lower running costs of a "proper" coffee brewer - personally I can't be bothered with the faffing about and cleaning involved.

Not tried Dolce Gusto, so can't say if it's better or worse than a Tassimo. This does seem like a good price though, so heat added.

yep, either get americano pods and follow the guidelines exactly, or get one of the espresso varieties of pods and increase the amount of water you use.

I saw this yesterday in Tesco for £39 too, although think it was a different colour.

Great got mine for Xmas ,got £10 free spend on coffees when u registered plus free delivery plus on YouTube there's a link in how to refill pods

I have one - good mid-range coffee, not up to nespresso standard but then its cheaper

I can't vote hot though as this is the current price they are selling for at most shops - you can walk in to tesco, currys, pcw etc and buy one for £39. Less if you count clubcard points.

Good product, definitely the "Best of the rest" and the one to go for if you can't afford/justify a nespresso.

Also if you like lattes and other milk based drinks - buy the "light" versions of those capsules. The standard ones are full of sugar and taste horrible (unless you are one of those strange people that like sweet coffee) - the light versions are virtually sugar free and taste like "proper" coffee.

We got ours from Debenhams the other weekend from Trafford - they were doing a gift offer as well which included:
3boxes of pods (16 in each box) and a free ceramic mug thingy that you take away on the road (sorry I don't drink coffee so don't know the name) and 3 stencils for chocolate sprinkles.

happy with ours at the mo. using it for hot chocolate.

oh, it comes with 2yr guarantee anyway. we paid £45 for ours but with gift vouchers and all, we only paid £18

just looking for one of these - seems ideal. Must admit don't know a thing about them and wondering how John Lewis one compares.
Idea read the thread - maybe someone has said.

Someone STOP ME - I am about to buy from John Lewis with the 2 year Guarantee. I HATE JL SCAMMERS!

Phew - stopped myself. The Mini Me is £10 more and comes with a 2 year guarantee. 50/50 this does as well but just checking.

These things simply encourage more and more waste for landfill. Add to that the immorral modus operandi of Nestle and the cost of the pods and these are simply a simple way to waste shed loads of money on a product that is very unfreindly to the planet and certain elements of the human race.

Happy New Year to you....

And to you, BargainHunter666.

got the same one for xmas for £44 in asda. love the machine and pods. yes pods are dear but saves me a fortune now not using costa any more! heat!

hotukdeals.com/dea…075

Going to get mine online from now on, but I wanted to stock up on a few with my new machinem asda had 3 boxes for £10 which saves a couple of quid on general price across the supermarket. Although I am sure you can save a little bit more online or with a subscription type thing.

Right now Amazon are also doing some of the most popular flavours for £9 - that's 3x16 boxes (48 capsules). Just ordered Americano and Espresso Barista. I think Cappacino and Latte Macchiato are just £9 too. These usually sell on Amazon for about £10.50ish so this is a very good price. Bear in mind of course that some pods (cappacino, lattes, chococino) need two per cup so a big box of 48 capsules of these would make 24 drinks.

Basically if you can get them for £9 on Amazon get them before the price goes back up (which it will).

Chococcino is lovely! Get through loads of these. My favourites are -

Cappacino, Americano, Grand Café Crema, Latte Macchiato (normal, vanilla, caramel), Café Grand Mild, Mocha.

Some flavours are only available from the official dolce gusto site but the site's prices are pretty good and you get free postage over a certain amount.

Good price for one of these; Still going to work out as nearly four times the cost per cup as filter or cafetiere coffee and it really, really doesn't taste better.

That is your opinion. To balance it out I believe my coffee out of these pods tastes better than the cafetiere coffee i have been having for the last 7 years...also is certainly not 4 times the cost of a decent ground coffee, maybe 2x as much, but 4x is ridiculous unless you are buying the cheapest coffee going and then it certainly doesn't taste better.

where do you get 'cappacino' from?

I seen these and the Picallo today in the McArthur Glen Designer Outlet in Bridgend South Wales for £29.99, so tempting!!!
