Hi emmajk42, thanks very much for info and help. I've now added a pic and link to Woolworths.
Don't know why aberfal thinks it's rubbish.
I bought TWO of these (one for my sister) and they cost me £12 each.
Was told they get rid of all summer stock at greatly reduced price, coz it's cheaper than putting it into mass storage like they used too!

err gas !!!! all your food will taste of spent gas fumes !!! YUK !!! that aint no bbq

Thanks for the update ]milky1965 and thanks for the help ]alfreer1.

May as well cook indoors and serve out?

Gas barby's dont do the job that proper barby's do, like the soot and grit thing :-D

Regardless of gas - it's still a sizzler.

They also had tons of these at Woolworth's Byker at £12 each.

Huh? Do you actually know what you're talking about, or are you making poor assumptions based on your limited knowledge of bbqs?

Gas bbqs are great, easy, reliable cookers, and do not taint the food. While this one is a basic model, at £12 its a bargain.

For those expecting a complete bbq for £12, dont forget that you may also need to purchase a gas regulator (£6-8) separately, 'rent' a gas bottle (£10+), and then buy the gas it also contains (£10-25).

As opposed to smelling of charred wood, burnt fat & the paraffin based products used for lighting it?

Funny that, here gas ovens & grills are installed in almost every restaurant from Michelin 3 Star to greasy spoon cafes and in threequarters of homes. Maybe it's different on your planet?

it looks exactly the same as my gran bought from argos for about £40 not to long ago, came with the regulator

Have been thinking about getting a Gas BBQ this summer, but havent got around to it yet, cause the weather has been so bad. I wouldn`t mind paying £12 for one of these and only getting to use it a couple of times, I`d be well cheesed off spending £100`s though, wot a waste of cash that would have been this summer!

thank you so much. i rang my local Woolworths at Norwich Riverside and reserved one., paid for it ,put in boot of car and went back for more bargains. bought Hozelock complete outside tap starter kit for £ 4 and 3 Spear and Jackson solar spot lights for £5. aaleedgedly original price £39.99

We bought a gas bbq this year, though unfortunately only used it 3 times with the weather. I decided that the prob with the charcoal is that you really have to make a concerted effort to have a bbq, whereas with the gas if you get some sun for a bit it only takes a few minutes to be ready to cook. The food has been fine and does not taste of gas! Can also by smoked wood chips to add different "flavours" to your food.
I think the gas bbq is prob better value than a charcoal one and at this price its a steal!

Plenty in Lancaster store for anyone up this way! Bought 2, one for us, one's a bargain pressie.

Managed to get 1.

Great deal. Just in time for........ oh.

Do you happen to have the product code so I can call my local tomorrow and see if they have one? What else do I NEED to get with it, something about a regulator?
Thanks

Me and my girlfriend have bought 2 charcoal BBQ's this summer, the first we left at the camp site when we went to the Renault World Series at Silverstone, we had used it maybe 20 times and it was only a fiver from tesco,
The second was a knock-down priced one from Focus, cost £8 and is still going strong, i think for the best part of a month we had BBQ's almost every evening, lol, the one that is sat out in the rain now was even constructed for the very first time in the rain, so it should be used to it now

my husband always said gas bbqs were cheating and wouldn't taste the same, but friends of ours held a bbq (using their new gas one) the same night as we held ours (using our good old charcoal one) and as theirs was practically over, everyone happily fed, we'd just started cooking ours after letting the coals burn etc, and were unfortunately rained off, so my hubbie was an easy convert!!

H E L P............................ Has anyone seen any of these bbq`s in Scarborough or Selby could really do with buying one

Managed to pick one up (well my Mum did:p) from Iopswich today, apparently it was the last one, sorry.

Please post pictures and asking price.

"gas" and "barbecue" don't really go together.

More like an outdoor grill. May as well cook your food indoors and take it outside. (or a george foreman grill and a long extension cable).

good price compared to the rrp, but a complete waste of time.
