Good price for this. Just got myself a Sony for roughly same price thanks to a contact but this would've been in my basket had I not!

Looks good- heated- Could someone tell me a decent AV receiver for a 5.1 home theatre system? I am still on the hunt(preliminary stage) for a suitable 4K projector for a 15 feet room expecting both day and night time projection. Which speakers to go for? I have considered the sony speaker system with AVR+ 5.1 speakers combined, but not sure. Cheers
Great price

I've bought this a month ago and really like it. Of course it's the basic of the basics and no room whatsoever to add more speakers for atmos etc. But for me it's enough. It has bluetooth which beats the yamaha I was looking at. I've got the yamaha ns-p41 speakers which again, basic af but I've not tried the higher end speakers and these have no distortion to my ears and sounds very clean.

Is it the Sony STRDN1080 by any chance? If so how are you finding it?

It is. It's a lovely box to look at
(weather is too nice and kids are too crazy to have had time to play yet! Also debating whether I want to bother before my new speakers arrive, tho probably will since they're delayed)

I'm just not sure if it'll add much to my existing speakers. I mean, I'll notice the speakers immediately anyway right?!

Like to hope you notice the speakers immediately or you'd have to question why you got them

Probably won't notice much with your existing ones true, dependant on where you're coming from of course, but you'd know what you can attribute to what.

True. I'll probably do it anyway as soon as the rain returns
Bought the 2600 to go with my C9. Love it. Not a massive difference (I wanted more HDMI inputs) to this 1600 for which this is a great price. Connected up to a Bose 5.1 cube speaker setup. Upgraded from a 1200 and super happy as it sounds amazing. Heat.
I would not recommend this range of denon amps - I have been using denon AV recievers since the 90s and this range is by far the worst in terms of reliability. I have the 6500H and it has had more problems than all my previous amps put together - now this isnt normally a problem but Denon UK have tried a few times to blame me for HDMI board issues (2 months after buying it) with outright stupid comments such as "you used a cheap hdmi cable and blew the board" ?!!? these cheap deals sound good but dont expect anywhere near half ass customer service.
A bit of advice please if anyone can help.

I want a stereo receiver (2 channels only) for TV and music. I was considering a Marantz NR1200 but seeing this deal I am wondering if this would be better for my needs, still only using the 2 channels. Interests are films and music.
Is this an HDMI 2.1 spec AVR?
