Denon AVR-X2000 AV Receiver.

The AVR-X2000 is a 7 channel amplifier delivers 150 W per channel, and comes with even more selected high quality audio components. A lot of effort has been put into the sound tuning of AVR-X2000, a very special approach in the price class and offers the most comprehensive network feature set ever available in a Denon.

The famous AirPlay technology built-in allows users to unleash their iTunes music libraries from a Mac, PC or their mobile Apple devices, and play them back on their AVR. The support of thousands of Internet radio stations and the access to online music services such as Spotify and Last.fm open up the living room for literally unlimited music sources.

Thanks to DLNA 1.5 compatibility, the AVR-X2000 can also gaplessly playback music files (including HD Audio formats like FLAC HD or WAV HD) stored on a network attached storage device (NAS), on a PC or via the front USB port.

To keep control of all those features, there is a Denon Remote App available for iOS and Android devices. Most remarkably, users can also control their Spotify account through this state-of-the-art App.

Audyssey Dynamic Volume offers real-time volume adjustment, while Audyssey Dynamic EQ improves a system's surround sound effects at low volume levels. Audyssey MultEQ XT automatically calibrates speakers (including the subwoofer) to suit the room's listening environment and the speaker’s characteristics.

Denon again took strong efforts to further increase the ease of use. Operating an AVR has never been easier, thanks to a new Graphical User Interface (GUI) as well as the latest version of the new Setup Assistant making it unnecessary to browse through the user manual for setting up the machines.

Moreover, the AVR-X2000 features Denon’s new color-coded speaker terminals and supplied matching color cable tags to ensure correct speaker cable hookup right out of the box. The simplified remote control features discrete source selection buttons that let users choose their preferred source with the touch of one button (no need to toggle through all the inputs to get to a preferred source component).

Denon AVR-X2000 Key Features:

150W x 7ch – High quality discrete power amplifier for powerful sound
Strictly selected parts and extensive sound tuning
6+1 (front) HDMI inputs with 3D and 4k support, HDMI out with ARCAnalogue and digital video upscaling up to 4k
Multi-zone (2 zones) and multi-source
Setup Assistant and 9 language Advanced GUI for easy set-up and operation

Thanks to the op.Just purchased this and with the VAT off it came in at £216 delivered. Result

After failing to find a good deal on a good receiver I nearly bought the pioneer 528. For £30 more this seems like a great deal!

Yesterday Richer Sounds advised me that they will be selling the x2000 for £250 on Boxing day, on a first come first serve basis, and that there would be queues. Hopefully everyone sees this and RS dont sell any!

Thanks OP!

Great deal, same price in Richer Sounds but this works out a lot better as the 3yr warranty is free.

How can this be 60 degrees, yet the richer sounds be over 400 degrees!? Doesnt really bother me as ive bought via peter tyson, just feel that there is some inconsistancy going on

nice one, ordered. although not sure how many they have in stock as they are closed until tomorrow.

I just spoke to them - they dont currently have any stock and wont know when more is arriving until the new year. :-(

Superfi have sold out, so have Audio Express (who also had it for £249). Sevenoaks Sound and Vision may have stock for £249 but its a case of ringing the store to find out (haven't tried them yet) Richer Sounds do still seem to have some stock.

Youve made a good choice, the whathifi review for these speakers at £500 says it all and they do perform excellent with the x2000.
What speaker wire you going to be using?

Haven't gotten around to that yet. Just picked up my Denon receiver this afternoon from RS (Tysons had sold out by the time I'd made up my mind). So need to need to sort out cables - any recommendations? I'd read the cables can be a bit of pig to attach....and that 2.5mm cable was recommended....

what sort of lengths do you need?

I'm in the same boat, been looking for 20m of speaker cable. What a minefield!

Is that the thickness you used Higzzy? I've read van damme blue is a good cable but more than twice the cost of budget cables. I need about 30m.......which for 2.5mm is about £60 on ebay. Got a recommendation for a sub-woofer cable?

Thanks for the post. Think its a bit thin though. I'm after 14awg (2.5mm I think). Ive seen quite a few on ebay that are copper coated.

This could be an option:

amazon.co.uk/Spe…ble

Or Blue Jeans Cable in America. Cheap & Its very thick cable.

As for subwoofer cable, a cheap one will be fine (after hours of research!). The only thing you have to look out for is that it's shielded or something. BJC sell them as well.

Wrong link earlier, i used this for fronts and centre, this for the rears and this for subwoofer cable.

Sub is next to tv at front of room, 1 x 1mtr for centre, 2 x 6mtrs runs for fronts and 2 x 10mtrs runs for rears.
