Don't think it's ever been cheaper. Very capable bit of kit with all the Atmos/DTS:X and 4K support you'd expect.

In store only however.

Very hot.
Super hot!

(nice work, beat me to submitting this by 1 minute apparently!)
And correct, very capable. 5* from What Hifi when reviewed at £500 and only being by the Sony which now costs at least 50% more! Given this already as Atmos and supports 4k and HDR, I can't immediately see what new tech the new models due out soonish will provide.
Only checked stock price this morning , nicely done OP
This has just gone down this afternoon, have been watching the price for weeks and was definitely still £349 earlier. Only thing is it now is only in store only and Cambridge have none in stock.

Good point. Although being a popular receiver it may be worth popping a call in to see if you can snag it at this price and wait for stock.
Very nice
Very basic sound, but great price for a budget receiver

Basic sound in relation too?

Very basic sound, but great price for a budget receiver

This was award 5* by most Hi Fi magazines when it was £500, so is hardly in the 'budget receiver" category. It's a big jump up in price to the 3400 for not a huge improvement.

How is Suzie doing buddy?

I need to calm my lingo down as the hotukdeals police blocked my last comment, so ...

This av receiver beats hands doon the warmer running Onkyo stuff!

It seems very capable to me ... possibly you get more channels and more power on more expensive receivers.

Being a HC follower for over 30 years, what this AV Amp provides for under £300 is quite frankly amazing!

Hi fi magazines... ah you mean like what HiFi, paid money for favourable reviews.

Budget denon units, I repair these as a hobby, got loads stacked up. Although slightly older than this model. Cheap components.

Thats why folks buy from Richer Sounds.

Pay 10% of the price for a 5 year warranty. If you don't use it you get the money back, provided you remember as there is a tightish window to claim that!

I purchased an Onkyo 1070 for £700, paid the £70.

It was a little known receiver, from a little known brand ...

At 23Kg it was built like a "sturdy" house (need to watch your lingo on here).
Alas, coming to the end of the 5 year period it developed an HDMI issue.

I took it to RS for repair - the repair was botched, worse than when I sent it in.

RS told me to chose a similar priced AV Receiver from the shop so I took a Yamaha A840 Advantage and they threw in a new 5 year warranty.

For £299.99 I just cannot see why this Denon with 8 HDMI 2.0 INs (HDCP2.2 compat), 2 HDMI OUT (1 HDCP2.2 compat), bluetooth, wifi, DNLA, 5.2:2 outputs isn't a hotdeal ... well way beyond me

Odd given they aren't selling any of the "warehouse stock" online ...

Speaking as someone who has never found a richer special offer "instore exclusive" actually in stock

6 year warranty

Was 5 when I took mine out so ... even better!!
Got mine paired with a zensor 3 5.1 setup. Definitely much better for films than it is for music but it’s miles above my old Yamaha. Only thing missing from it is a set of pre outs so I can run the front speakers from a power amp.

This is one of the most popular current AVR's out there. It's not an end-of-line product, it's not been replaced, it's the current product. I've yet to walk into a branch of RS that didn't have them in stock and since it's a popular, current AVR that's not due for replacement I'd be surprised if it can't be bought in store. Or possibly reserved.

It might be worth ringing your local branch if you're so determined to prove it's some sort of end-of-line, niche product shifting type sale. Rather than just making assumptions about whether they've got stock.
Just wished amazon to price match ?
Omg! Mine was literally delivered today from RS, paid £350 4 days ago. Will call them tomorrow and hope they will honour it!

Aye.

It really annoys me when people just assume that somewhere doesn’t have stock.
Too lazy to call or visit the store to actually check stock.

Seeing as you claim to know the internals, between this and the Yamaha RXV583, which fares better in terms of the quality of internal components used?
Am I right in saying this has a built in HDMI Matrix (meaning you can output 2 different sources - e.g. Sky to a projector and PS4 to a TV)
It doesn't look clear, but I'm sure this model came up when I was trying to find an AVR with that feature.

I currently have the Sony STR-DN1050 which I managed to get second hand for under £200 last year and has 3 HDMI out (though 2 are mirrors and I have to go into the settings to change source of the third output)
I love it and not sure if it's worth the upgrade to this or not...
A lot of features for the price. If you sign up to Richer Sounds VIP newsletter, should be able to get a further £10 off

I asked richer sounds about this as I have 2 TVs to power from the 2 outgoing hdmis. Their answer was that the 2 outputs are mirrored. I have a 4K tv and a 1080p in the next room. The Denon will send a signal to the lowest resolution of the 2. I.e both will receive 1080p. The Denon avr3400 with the 3 outputs will send independent resolutions to ensure both receive the highest available. But 3400 is 599. Prob cheaper for me to upgrade my 1080p to 4K and buy this 2400 at 299.

Got a rather thoughtful backlit remote too. Just need richersounds to open now to check stock.

I think it depends who you deal with there. I have before been told I can't use it on an item on sale, and later for a different purchase had it accepted with no question.
