this black box is expensive for me

How does this compare to the 3300?

3300 is better, this just has HEOS wireless support mainly on 2400, 3400 etc

3300 is better - HEOS. Dolby Vision and HLG which will come later with a firmware update. Also this will have eARC in the future. The 3300 probably not.

May be the cheapest available but that doesn't make a hot deal.
My £300 AVR-2300 does everything I need it to do, effortlessly.

Probably because it's still not worth it?

I didn't expect it to get into the thousands ! I was originally going to get the 2300 but the cheapest I could find it was £350 , I figured for the extra £110 I might as well get the 2400

From doing a bit of looking around all I can see that's different between the two is HLG/Dolby Vision (which the 2300 will get) eARC (future update for the 2400 unless it's gotten it already) and HEOS. Unless I'm missing something crucial.

Yeah , there's not massive differences. Some 4k video settings and HEOS. Reviews favoured it slightly over the 2300. Probably not enough to warrant the extra cost but figured I'd treat myself.

Huh?

Lol sorry that wasn't meant for you.

Manufacturer refurb 2300 on eBay £317 at the moment, I really wanted the 3300 though and got it for £424. Arrived yesterday and its a bit bigger than I was expecting tbh, gutted I'm not going to be able to play with it for a couple of weeks when I'm back from a trip. What speaker setup are you running?

The 3300 was to big for my cabinet which is why I didn't go for it. Currently running tannoy hts (the towers not the satellites ) but am on the lookout for some monitor audio r270's

It is a bit of a beast! Makes me feel like it's good quality tho haha.
I'm on the hunt for decent surrounds & extra speakers for the atmos setup now.

What's the £40 discount code, is it still useable and for all items?

I couldn't find any Peter Tyson code that would work, nor even any evidence there ever was a £40 code.

Me wither. Don't feel so bad it wasn't just me then
