RICHER SOUNDS WILL PRICE MATCH AND OFFER YOU £10 OFF. But that will be on phone or in store, so you'll have to contact them.

................

I bought this receiver for £389 from Richer Sounds over Black Friday. Simply...WOW!!!

It's amazing. Not only is it great in producing the likes of Atmos sound, but it does a great job of padding out lower quality sources if you have additional speakers.

It was very easy to set up, and has 8 HDCP 2.2 ports so you can pack in your 4K and HDR sources (plus HDMI port on the front). I have my PS4 Pro, 4K HDR DVD and will have an Nvidia Shield on there soon. There's a few legacy connections as well for retro gamers and older devices- composite and component (though it doesn't offer an up-scaling on these connection - it does on HDMI content).

Menus are fine, and there's lots of tweaking options for to get the best out of your system if you wish.

As a bonus, it also has 2 HDMI outputs, so you can send another picture out to a projector or different room. I use it to send to the bedroom.

Well, enough from me...I can't recommend it enough. Its my first Denon after years of Yamaha (and dipping into Sony and the Sofa looking Onkyo brand), but for the price...this is the best. I love it. Just make sure the neighbours don't mind you having a cinema in your living room.

4 pack is £1 in Asda. The coconut ones are lovely. But not the toffee, never liked toffee yogurt.

Does it support dolby atmos? Do all hdmi ports support 4k or just certain ones?

Denon are not Chinese! A very respectable brand in AV and have been for many years.

Unless they've been bought out they're Japanese and have been going forever.

It does support Atmos and I believe all the HDMI ports are HDCP 2.2 compatible.

If you know anything about AV then you'll have heard of them, not unknown at all and one of the best.
I've had the 2300 for a year now and it's fantastic

Onkyo well better. Better materials. Leather, etc.

Denon, Onkyo, Yamaha, etc, are all superb Japanese manufacturers, if you're serious about home cinema, do a bit or research, buy a copy of What hi-fi magazine. Definitely not Chinese rubbish! Denon have their UK head office in Belfast I believe.

Think you might want to do some research on HUKD and Onkyo maybe?

I've never had an AV receiver before, but would like to get it for the Dolby Atmos. But I'm unsure what speakers to get as I don't know if they would be compatible? Are there specific speakers I would need? I'd appreciate anyone's advice on this, thanks
If you fancy a more organic sound with a creamy high end I recommend Rachel's Dairy.

Best bet is to go to Richer Sounds and go listen to some. They have a good range from cheap to eye watering.

You'll need to decide whether you want to do 5.1, 7.1 etc and best bet is to talk to those guys and have a listen. You could always buy the amp and a cheapish set of 5.1 speakers then add some nice bookshelf speakers later to bring it up to 7.1

As mentioned above me. Give your local richer sounds a ring and arrange a demo. Tell them your budget/goal and they should be more than willing to set it up for you. I've been a few times. Left to my own devices trying different sources and speakers.
Unfortunately the code doesn't work with this offer, only offers featuring "£ Voucher Available" in Green.
richersounds price matched for me, but refused to put the voucher on top.
So I just went with hughes and should be delivered on Monday
cheers op!

What speakers have you paired this with?
On the receiver ordering page there is an option to claim another 10% because its a HEOS reciever. That makes this an even better deal.

The 10% is off your next heos purchase not this one, decent if you want to spend more money I suppose

The yogurt one on Amazon worth a look at £349.99.... amazon.co.uk/dp/…GHZ
Just bought one from Richer Sounds for the same price 2 days ago.
Well spend money, in my opinion.
I have just 2 floor standing speaks connected to it, but sound really good.
Worth the price I think

What is the difference between this and the 2300 model other than the higher price? I can't see any looking at the specs.

I've been eyeing this deal since yesterday and came across an older youtube video urging to buy 2300 instead of this one. The reason was that 2400 at that time was £150 or so more expensive and a tad bit higher in wattage. hope that helps

I was after x2300w my self, but I bought the x2400h, because its exactly the same price just now.

Found on Denon site:
"The new AVR-X2400H offers all the winning features of its predecessor the AVR-X2300H, but with greater ability for both home theater and music use. It includes the ultra-precise Audyssey MultEQ XT calibration and set-up system, complete with Denon’s new Audyssey MultEQ Editor app (available for purchase in the Appstores) to allow the user to fine-tune its settings. And it can be used with the HEOS system, thanks to HEOS integration."

There's not much (mainly the HEOS stuff I think), but you can't get the x2300 new now.
Thanks for the info. I'm certain the 2300 model was £299 at one stage but missed the boat as usual. This is probably then a re-badged 2300 with a firmware upgrade.
Still a good deal though.

You're right, this will probably hit around that in April or so if you can wait. They always drop off when the new model is released. But they sell out fast as the price falls, so you've gotta make a decision when to bite in fear of missing out (and having to wait again, or pay a bit more for the current model). I was in same situation last year too.
Got a AVR-X3300 earlier this year, amazing.

I highly recommend the Q Acoustics speakers, I have these:

richersounds.com/q-a…tml

Unless you go higher end, you'll find that you can only have 5.1 with Atmos, i.e. 5.1.2, or 7.1 without - most people agree that 3D 5.1.2 is way better than flat 7.1 surround.

For Atmos you'll need speakers on the ceiling or special Atmos speakers which reflect the sound off the ceiling from below. I went with a pair of Bose cubes mounted on the ceiling and they work well.
