Works fine on mine. Sometimes goes a bit glitchy from my PC in 4K but perfect on 4K Blu-ray player. As for this deal, save yourself some money and get a BK sub and some Dali Zensors

Yes, I have this receiver. Works fine but no on-screen display on 4k outputs.
Seems decent then. Speakers are this price just on their own.

I just cant decide if this is actually going to be worth the cash.

My samsung series 8 UHD screen is used for prime/Netflix/iTunes (all streaming/now tv).

So just don’t know if it’s worth it.

Currently have a Sony all in one sony ht-as5 10 years old but perhaps it’s just right for streaming ... hmmmm
Got to say the Kefs are fantastic! Had mine years and never get bored of their sound! They cost me £1200 around 6 years ago.......

These KEF speakers are excellent and great for mounting on walls. However the Denon (which I had on loan while my Yamaha AV receiver was being fixed) disappointed. No AUX input and it got incredibly hot during normal use (compared to the Yamaha). Lots of HDMI inputs though. And I couldn’t find a way to use Bluetooth although the remote had a Bluetooth button.

I'm looking at a photo of the back of the machine & it looks as if it has 2 x optical inputs & 4 x audio inputs.

Can you clarify what you mean by no Aux input?

Apologies if I'm being a muppet!

Bluetooth works great. I connect my iPhone to it via Bluetooth and then play music from my phone. No issues at all.

No AUX input = no connector for an phone’s headphone output to connect to. This is vital for us as our kids have many friends coming over and they all want to play their own music. I could not find any way to link via Bluetooth.

I got AirPlay to work (but Denon call this HEOS or something similar) but there was no Bluetooth option that I could find.

Just buy a phono to 3.5mm lead?
I’ve got it’s much bigger brother and the Denon’s are fantastic amps. I’ve also had a few Yamaha’s and I can say that they all run hot with use so if you e got a Yamaha that doesn’t run hot you can’t driving it to much.

Thanks but it’s an input on the front that I needed. So that the kids could easily connect their mobile phones to it. I guess Bluetooth wasn’t working on the one I had on loan.

It has Bluetooth built in I know as I own this device (http://manuals.denon.com/AVRX2400H/NA/EN/SEHFSYvfqpodjf.php) but if you got a receiver that didnt its simple.

Buy a 3.5mm to aux adaptor for a couple of pounds on Amazon

If you're connecting a phone to any amplifier or receiver avoid using the headphone jack (as this will use the DAC on the phone which is to be avoided) or Bluetooth (which is a lossy way of transmitting audio). The best bet is to use a Chromecast audio (via optical) or Airplay. Alternatively, I use a 'USB DAC' which I purchased from Amazon. This will connect into the USB output from your phone and the other end will connect via optical to your amplifier/receiver. This is a lossless transmission but only works on Android, unsurprisingly.

I have the Kef T101! My mistake I bought them with an Onkyo amp that long since gone, and yes my wife bought me them for me 6yrs ago when we moved into a bungalow as she hated the full size speakers and Rel subs I had!

Whathifi review was in 2011. Anyway I don’t think it matters in an older product such as this, rarely is there any actually new tech.

USB DACs work on iPhones.

You download the HEOS app, once you've paired it with the Denon, you get a list of options from where to play music from, Spotify, Amazon, Soundcloud, Phone etc. That's it.
