You’re generally better off with the x1600 if you don’t need the additional connections. Sound wise they are identical. Real difference in sound comes when you get the x3600 which has MultEQ XT32 room calibration

What I found going with the x2300 was I could have done with the X3300. More power, better room correction, preouts and more speakers supported. So for £280 more I would get the x3600 instead
