If you're after a proper hi-fi system in a compact case then, at this price, you can't do any better than the Denon D-F109DAB. At the heart of the system is a DAB+ receiver. With 65 watts per channel (4 ohms) the DRA-F109DAB receiver is more powerful than typical mini systems, with enough oomph to drive speakers to high levels in decent sized rooms. What's more, a dynamic and clear sound is assured by the Class D amplification with simplified circuit design.

SEPARATE CD PLAYER WITH USB CONNECTION

It may be small, but the Denon DCD-F109 CD player has the sonic ability to match many full-size CD players. A high precision DAC and simplified circuit design provides an open, detailed and dynamic sound quality. As a further benefit, the DCDF109 CD player also features a front-mounted USB socket. This can be used to connect up your iPod, iPhone, MP3 player or couple with a USB mass storage device for playback of your MP3/WMA stored music.

EASY CONTROL YET FEATURE PACKED

The Denon D-F109DABC comes with a newly developed system controller that easily and simply controls both receiver and CD player. What's more, it will also control the optional DNP-F109 streamer unit. Yet, despite its ease of use, this premium Denon system doesn't compromise on features. Both optical and coaxial digital inputs let you connect up not just the included CD player but also a digital streaming device and TV, too. If your source doesn't have a digital output, two analogue RCA phono inputs are also included. This Denon also comes with comprehensive alarm and sleep functions, making it ideal as a very high quality bedside music system.

The speakers alone go for £200, so a fantastic deal.

Those speakers sound tiny. (Not tinny). My current 20 year old speakers are huge in comparison, so can't help but be sceptical about the quality. Doesn't change my vote though. Seems a fine spot.

Small doesn't mean much. The Zensor 1's are small but sound massive in scale. Their bass isn't intense but very flat.
