Limited time deal

These media players have had my attention for while due to the motorized platter, you cant beat pull on your fingers of vinyl. there have only been good reviews and work with all the main DJ apps, Rekordbox, Serato, iTunes and Traktor. Seems to cover all bases well and the build quality is superb, this would no doubt keep you covered for many years.

The die cast aluminium platter features ultra-high resolution (3600 ticks per rotation) performance accuracy rotated by a bushless DC Electric motor, more powerful and capable than anything previously available on a pro DJ media player. The SC5000M also has an adjustable vinyl tension for slip/ scratch control which blesses DJ's with a true, mechanical spin under their fingertips, making music really feel alive!

Whats New in V1.3.1?

  • Direct import of Rekordbox playlists, hot-cues and memory loops Removing the fear of change for any cautious DJ, this new feature makes any time-invested, carefully curated Rekordbox collection (of any size) directly accessible within Engine Prime v1.3.1. A quick and easy import procedure makes it simple and fast to bring in Rekordbox playlists, songs, hot cues and memory loops, all in readiness for selected collection export to the SC5000M
  • Speed improvements to Serato, iTunes and Traktor imports With digital music collections getting larger and a DJ’s time becoming more valuable, Engine Prime v1.3.1’s greatly increased import speed brings in your Serato DJ, NI Traktor and iTunes music collections faster than ever.
  • SC5000/M On-Screen Editing of Crates and Playlists Crates and playlists can now be added, edited and removed directly on the SC5000M touchscreen without the need for a computer. DJs can now take advantgage of on-the-fly creation and manipulation of their music collections, live at a gig or during prep-time at the studio.

Instant, one button press key matching is also added and audio quality remains pristine at all frequencies. Standalone, harmonic DJ mixing is here!

So this is a fancy CDJ without the ability to play CDs? Do DJs actually mix live these days or do they sort out a flawless mix in the studio and just whack it on a USB drive & act as a DJ?

DJ's aren't really using CD's anymore as it's just easier to transfer tunes to a USB stick.

Also, yes, you could make a flawless mix that you've made at home using something like Ableton Live, but there isn't really any fun in that.

This is a great deal but the saving is exaggerated a little. You can buy this package for about £3200 so still a massive saving. I can see these lowering further with the release of the PRIME 4 stand alone controller. These are about £1400 and offer a similar set up as this package.

Laidback Luke uses this Denon set up and is passionate about real mixing. CDJ or MP3 player the sync button could be pushed. Its about trusting the DJ to perform.

The same way in theory in the vinyl days it could still be done and then printed to vinyl so the industry is just moving with technology. There will always be purists but what's easier, a couple of boxes of vinyl (if you've ever picked one up they weigh a tonne) or couple of USB's in your pocket?
Denon DJ is so last year. Pioneer or go away

38920479-cpxhH.jpgI have pioneer in studio but the motorized platters must be way more fun than the boring, age old jog wheel. These denons are native Rekordbox, if you can mix on these you can mix on Pioneer. The price is good for the firepower provided

old school souly here - new Pioneer DJ mixer but with 2 SL1210's, and a laptop, can mix digital if needed but vinyl all night for me
expensive solution imo but neutral on the deal not voted either way
An absolute bargain! Denon are making waves

??? Pioneer are the ones who have been around for ages and Denon are the ones innovating... I say this as a Pioneer user myself!

What has the fact this can't play CDs got anything to with 'mixing live'? You can mix .mp3s just as live as you can tracks from a CD?...
Real mixing died when crossfaders came out.
Great deal, terrible demo video!
Mmmmm Denon
Great offer, they are nice players, this offer seems to be on at most DJ Retailer.

You'd be a bit stuffed if you did a pre mix and the crowd weren't digging it! Mix live all the way and play what the crowd are responding to!
