DENON DM39DAB MICRO SYSTEM (Silver) WITH WHARFEDALE DIAMOND 9.1 SPEAKERS £259 @ SUPERFI

Complete Denon systems are selling for around £100 more, but these Wharfdale speakers get good reviews, so £259 including postage looks a good deal to me.

This system is rated best buy by What HI FI.

This excellent Superfi sizzling hifi system consists of the Denon DM39 Micro System and the award winning Wharfedale Diamond 9.1 bookshelf speakers. Terrific sound and a stylish design make this a fantastic value package.

1 x DENON DM39DAB CD/DAB/DAB+/FM/USB MICRO SYSTEM

The Denon DM39DAB is a superb micro hifi system which builds on its multi award-winning forebears, the DM38 and DM37. With an extensive internal rework to allow a more direct signal flow, an upgraded power supply and a new, better stabilised CD mechanism designed to further reduce vibration, the latest incarnation of this reference micro system delivers in spades - a hugely enjoyable sound from a variety of sources and all packed in to a compact, unobtrusive yet attractive unit. The addition of an optical input means you can now connect digital sources such as TVs to it as well.

The DM39 crams in an awful lot of features including a CD player with support for CD-R/-RW discs, DAB, DAB+, FM (with RDS) tuners with auto tuning and 100 presets, and a 2 x 30 watt amplifier. It will also play MP3 & WMA files from CD or via its front panel USB socket - to which you can connect compatible memory sticks or portable hard drives. Connect your iPod, iPad or iPhone by USB and the music is transferred digitally, to be handled by the DM39's superior digital-analogue converter for an even richer, smoother sound. The DM39 will charge your iOS device even when the system is in standby.

Round the back there are a host of inputs, including an optical digital audio input allowing you to connect TVs, set-top boxes, blu-ray/DVD players, game consoles, network streamers or any other device with an optical output and have their audio delivered by the DM39. For analogue devices there's an analogue stereo input. Plus, if you want to add more bass there's a subwoofer output too.

The quality binding post speaker terminals allow for a better, cleaner connection of your speakers than the spring clip connections usually found in micro systems.

From a series of systems that have become the de facto standard in micro hifi and with numerous sound enhancing improvements, the Denon DM39 DAB is a top-notch micro system that doesn't disappoint and is ready for use with your own choice of speakers.

1 x WHARFEDALE DIAMOND 9.1 SPEAKERS (PAIR)

The multi-Award-Winning Wharfedale Diamond 9.1 bookshelf speakers are a real classic in the world of bookshelf speakers. Called "one of the best budget loudspeakers ever" on WhatHifi.com, they "make a mockery of their £180 price tag", offering a "wonderful, balanced sound". Now available for less than £100, the 9.1 represents amazing value for money.

Available in stylish walnut or black wood finish, the build quality on these good-looking speakers is fault-less, too. The curved cabinets, usually only found on much more expensive speakers, help eliminate vibrations and dissipate standing waves. This ensures no loss of performance, superior bass and a more focussed image. The 9.1 speakers can also be bi-wired, separating the signal paths to the high and low frequencies and so offering a cleaner, more precise sound.

With a strong, tight bass and huge amounts of top-end detail, the Wharfedale Diamond 9.1 bookshelf speakers will give you hours of listening pleasure. They'll satisfy the expectations of one who seeks a far more expensive speaker. Brilliant value.

Well, from my PC or server, as opposed to Spotify or some such external service.

Grr annoyingly this is for the silver colour of this system instead of the black shown in the picture as choosing that option puts the price of this up to £299.00! Might be an idea to mention this in description incase some thing you can choose the option shown in the picture at the price showing in this deal

Fair comment.

Since looking at this deal I've noticed they also stock this system with Monitor Bronze BX2 speakers (another What HIFI class winner). Complete package is £349 delivered for the black finish and the walnut finished speakers. The speakers are £250!!

yes go for it

I bought the M38 and WHARFEDALE DIAMOND 9.1 SPEAKERS 18 months ago from Super-Fi.
It's great but the deal here does not included speaker cables, cost me £4.99 per meter extra. If you buy this in store I'd expect to get some speaker cable for free.

Silver is way better than black and cheaper as well Walnut speakers go really well with the silver.

I use below which can stream both music and sound from films via phono outputs:

I also use a Velodyne Impact Mini subwoofer.

oh You mean co's it's not got the facility built in e.g wifi/upnp/av/dlna features.

Superfi let me down badly over hi fi in the past.....Offered me dodgy alternative goods when couldnt fulfill order at elevated prices. I wouldnt buy speaker wire off them let alone HiFi. Cold for that reason but thats a personal vote. Others may have had good service.

Good deal. Can vouch for the speakers.

Hmmm Denon.

Excellent system for the money!

Is it possible (and easy) to plug a record player into this system?

I've got the DENON part of this system. The CD player portion is really really sensitive to slightly marked or scratched discs.

Also could do with another audio input or two.

Looks like a fairly cheap solution..I've just bought one (not received it yet) Might not be audiophile quality but the reviews I've seen suggest it is fairly good..And it's only £40

If you go to Maplins web site they are doing "B" grades for £24.99

I doubt it. Most modern hi-fi kit lacks a phono input. They usually just have a line-level 'Aux In' or something.

You could buy a phono pre-amp, plug your turntable into that and plug that into the Aux In on the Denon. I used this sort of setup with a Denon micro system years ago.

Anything similar to this, but cheaper?

This is a good idea and the 9.0's are truly excellent speakers (Hell I have two pairs in my house alone) ! But they really are in a different class to the 9.1's, which are outstanding.

I have these speaker on the end of a TEAC 258i, they sound very good. Got them on some soundstyle stands. I bought the speakers nearly 3 years ago at £100 on offer, they are still more than that now in some places...testament to there quality I think

Thanks for posting up the deal.

Bit confused though, do I need to buy speaker cables? If so, which ones?

Speaker cable is a waste of money, anything of reasonable length and gauge will be sufficient.

a pierce of mains cable would be fine.
