"Denon has done it again - the D-M40DAB is a seriously impressive micro system for the money."What Hi-Fi Sound & Vision Award Winner 2015

The small system that's big on sound quality
It might be small but the Denon DM40 DAB still puts sound quality first. "Simple & Straight" circuit design minimizes distortion from the input selector, electronic volume control and power amp for sound purity and very low levels of distortion. Working alongside this, Triple Noise Reduction Design (TNRD) works to preserve the signal quality for the most accurate, life-like sound. Make no mistake, the Denon D-M40DAB is still one of the best-sounding systems in its class.

USB to get the most from your Apple iPhone or iPod
The front-mounted USB socket is ideal for connecting up your Apple iPod or iPhone and playing back music. Not only is this fully compatible for playback, it also charges your iPod or iPhone, even when in standby - making a charging dock unnecessary.

Flexible connectivity; now includes two digital inputs
Although a brilliant system in its own right, the DM40DAB reaches out to your other sources, too. If you've got a TV, games console or TV set-top box, you can now plug them in using the two standard optical inputs. An analogue RCA phono AUX input is also included for older sources.

Pump up the bass with an optional subwoofer
By fitting a subwoofer output, Denon gives you a wider choice of speaker options. Instead of medium-sized or floorstanding speakers you can use an active subwoofer with small satellite speakers - the choice is now yours.

DAB radio
The Denon DM40 DAB comes with an impressive sounding tuner radio that's comprehensively equipped. Featuring DAB+, DAB and FM (RDS), the tuner has many radio eventualities covered both for the present and, because of DAB+, for the future, too.

The perfect balance of sound and convenience, the Denon DM40 DAB still sets the standard.

Good price, but keep a lookout at the Amazon lightning deals. Can't remember the exact price but was at least £20 cheaper than this.

In fact it looks like Amazon has price matched this and the black unit at £199.

That would be a good deal, I'm thinking if I can get Richer Sounds to do the same and price match Amazon, then you can get a cheap 6 year warranty if you prefer the black version.

Good product, I have the M38 version. Think this was at £185 on a recent Lightning deal.
This was £185 yday in the lightening deal. Anyone recommend any nice bookshelf speakers around the £75-£125 price bracket? Don't want to spend the £200 on the Dali Zensor 1s...

These units are often packages with the cheap Warfedale Diamond 9.0's, they're only £39 but these look good in your price bracket:

Why on earth would richer sounds be closed on xmas eve? Crazy.
These are also coupled with Q Acoustic 2010i's for £279.99. The speakers are supposed to be excellent. Also the 2020i's for a bit more.

EDIT: the speakers are now down to £79.99 from £99.99. Unfortunately, the bundle deal hasn't been reduced, so it's the same price as buying both hifi and speakers individually. I wonder if they'd knock something off if you asked nicely in store...

Thanks Grohler and Jedfordski.

Could I tell the difference between the 2010i's and the Dali Zensors? Is the difference worth the £120 extra?

Cheers
Grohller

Diamonds sound fantastic with these Denon DM series - I have some with a DM38 and was staggered
Richer sounds have now match Amazon on price for the black unit, so a 6 year warranty for £20
Keep an eye out on the Amazon lightning deal, Boxing day at 10am.
^^^ £185.00 at the moment.
Yep, I just ordered from Amazon for £185, delivering tomorrow
£219 at Richard Sounds with 6 year warranty. Not sure if there is a 10% newsletter promo code floating around to make it around the £200 mark?
