About this deal

Denon dp29f turntable for £99 instead of £169 from Richer sounds

Easy to use, compact and stylish, the Denon DP-29F turntable makes it simple to get the best from your vinyl.

Unbeatable heritage
Founded in 1910, Denon has over 110 years’ experience in audio and is one of the longest established hi-fi companies in the world. Since being at the forefront of gramophone technology in 1910, they went on to lead with professional disc cutting devices, LPs, audio cassette, professional and domestic CD, home cinema, DVD and much more. This unparalleled experience means you can be assured of the best performance-per-pound from the Denon DP-29F.

Lifelike sound quality
Set-up and ready to go, the DP29F doesn’t require any complicated or fiddly set-up. The fitted cartridge is perfectly aligned, ensuring you hear plenty of detail from the record’s grooves. The belt-drive system naturally damps motor noise, giving you a quiet backdrop and smooth stability.

Easy to use, fully automatic design
For ease of use, the DP-29F is a fully automatic design. Simply select the size of the record and the tonearm starts at just the right place. It also features auto-return, so you don't need to worry about damaging the stylus at the end of the record.

Connects to any system with an AUX input
The built-in phono stage means that you don't even need to use an amplifier or system with a dedicated turntable input - any system with an AUX input in will do. If you do have an amp with a phonostage built-in, however, you can turn off the Denon’s, making it completely flexible with compatible amps.

Compact and stylish
At 360mm wide and taking up not much more space than an LP’s footprint, this Denon turntable fits where others don’t. The smart silver design stands out from the crowd but uses a matte finish for practicality.

Enjoy your vinyl, in style, with the Denon DP-29F.

A fixed cartridge, no anti-skate, no adjustable counterweight.

And Hyperfi have it for £59.99
+ £17 shipping and secondhand B-stock from a supplier that has had some less than complimentary reviews.

    Not exactly like for like.

Is there a difference between a record player and a turn table?

Turn table sounds distinctively like American-speak.
    A turntable doesn't contain built-in amplifier/speakers, a record player does

Richer have been doing some amazing deals on the low end pro-ject turntable lately currently £149 but has been part of some good deals if you need something else too

Solid deal. I very much doubt there's anything better under £100 new. Perfect starter turntable or for someone who just wants the simplicity of an automatic...

Top tip…. I’d you don’t have a dedicated phono stage on your amp, you’ll need something to amplify phono output before it goes in your amp (lots of cheap options on Amazon)…. This has something built in, which is quite useful (more plug ‘n’play

I was tempted - but the reviews aren't great.

Spend £300-£400 on something like a Rega and you won't regret it, but if that's not an option then maybe something like this.

This is pretty poor and I’m aghast that Denon would put their name on something like this. It’s no better than a crossley.

For £50 more you can buy the Project E turntable which an award winning turntable. (edited)
The Denon is fully auto. Which I think for many people is a big selling point... I'd choose the project, but this Denon will suit many people.

Some ridiculous OTT advice on here.
