do you need the denon receiver to go with these?

Worth noting that reviews of the Denon receiver that you get with these speakers, comment that they are a let down.

No, they're just standard connections at the back

Add quidco too!

Giving them a go to add to my Denon amp surround sound sys, cheers.

Haven't used iBood myself, but going by the reviews I'd be cautious.

Only review i can see on these is that are seriously lacking in the bass range. As someone has already pointed out on another deal for a fiver more you can have a pair of Diamond 9's.

When it comes to speakers, my advice is buy British.

Tells me all I need to know about these. If your looking for some cheap bookshelf speakers / surrounds you'd be better off trying Richer Sounds / Superfi / your local dealer.

Thanks you answered my question I was thinking Denon in my head in the style of Danone, but couldn't remember the brand.

But owned and manufactured in Chinese.

If speaker companies didn't use China for manufacturing the prices would be a lot higher, the important bit is the designers are British.

Yuck....these can never be worth £100 with speaker terminals like that!!!! Don't even have proper posts.

Orderd from Ibood sevral times had no issues they send from Belguim usually 7-10 days delivery via dhl

How about £42 after cashback? Are they worth that?

Not really when diamond 9's and Gale 3010s are only £49.95. Denon make good systems and separates, if you want decent speakers stick with a speaker manufacturer.

I can't really comment, but even at the budget price of £100, you expect some proper binding posts. So I'm more referring to the overpriced RRP, and I could be wrong, just doesn't really add up having terminals like that and a believable RRP.

I suspect the people who want to be paying £42 aren't really interested in whether it has binding posts or not. They just want decent quality, which Denon are, for their money. Audiophiles will be looking much further up the price/quality scale.

£42 for these is a bargain. The main criteria here at HUKD is the price when compared to other prices for the same item. The rest is down to opinion.

Price is showing as £35. Might be an idea to update the title.
I use TDL RTL2s which cost less than these but they have also have the sound I like. Deep low frequencies, amp set on flat/source direct. Love that low volume yet powerful presence.
Sorry to waffle, heat added.

Looks like a good price - though these are the discontinued N7 model, replaced by the N5, and designed for Denon's 'Network Music Systems' rather than their HiFi component systems - here's a link to the product page...

Have to say you'd be better putting your money elsewhere, I think denon must have been having an off day when these were created, the specs speak volumes and no binding posts at that rrp is criminal. If its piano black gloss finish your after i'd probably opt for the Roth Oli 2 which Superfi have for a little bit more wonga but a much better rep than the gobsmacked iBOOD reviews and they look good grilles off or on

Please don't say wonga - oops now you've made me say it - see what you've done? Just stop.
