Good price for a sample pack
Good price for selection but if you're after Derby Extra blades I'd recommend the 100 for £8.90 delivered, also from Shaving World and Amazon - very good.

avoid derby at all costs. I bought that 100 pack and they are the worst blades I have ever used. 1 shave if you are lucky and I have to use a 10p BIC afterwards as they havent got close enough! oO

It is worth noting DE razor blades which do not work well for one person may be the best choice for another.

An individual can also find a brand of DE razor blades might work best with one particular razor, yet for another which they use, they may find another brand works best.

Some people like Derby, others people like Feather...Astra..Shark...Rapira...Lord etc.

I suggest you try some other brands and find what works best for you. Use the above link to the DE Shaving Thread if you need any advice What type of razor are you using, as different razors allow different levels of agressiveness?

A sample pack like this is a good option to test out some different brands before purchasing in bulk to save money.

Maybe I should have been clearer in that 1 blade may work ok and then the next one from the same pack will be completely blunt and pull hair straight from the outset. Will try this test sample out though.

I only have a cheap wilkinson sword plastic razor but it works much better than the first one I bought:-

Might have to splash out and get a Merkur 34C

You may have just been unlucky with a bad batch of the Derby razor blades. I have seen reviews where some people have got a batch with quite a lot of bad ones. You could try using a bit of cork on each new blade which is supposed to get rid of any small imperfections before use. I think basically you run a new blade and cut slightly into some cork. Some people use this technique on other branded blades as well. Never tried it myself and care needs to be taken not to cut fingers!

The 34C gets praise from lots of people. The Edwin Jagger De89 is also worth looking at as an alternative to the 34C. I think the 38C is supposed to be a longer handle version of the 34C. So many options available when choosing a DE razor. Best to read up some reviews.

Not used it myself but it does get good reviews. If it works well for you and you are happy with it, then there is no need to move on. Unless you are tempted to try something else....so many choices (_;)

not really sure if it works well as my derby blades are crap - hopefully these ones I just bought will work better. Thanks for tips.
