great idea

Nice one, thanks for the heads up.:)

what a great idea

Don't trust the pubs listed as participating, without checking directly with the pub you plan to visit. Coca cola made a right hash of this last year including pubs who didn't even want to participate, because they had to fund too much free stock themselves!!!

Just had another proper look at the Coca Cola website - they aren't even listing the participating pubs this year, which says it all - probably aren't many that are, if any!!!

If it works it's great, but last year was hit and miss!

I've noticed a few pubs advertising this on their website but then no mention of it actually in the pub.

Good idea,thanks

Can u just say your driving and have free coke to mix with your jd?

They do this in other countries as routine. But of course you get people here that want to say they're driving to get free coke for their JD.

I noticed this earlier. Hungry Horse pubs appear to taking part in the offer if it helps anyone Thought it was too specific to post, but now you all know.

All you had to do last year is show your car keys and be with a group of 4 or more. I had 3 from the same bar they didn't really care

An if you go see the cocacola Xmas truck they give you free coke to

where are the pubs listed please?

No discount from coke for publicans, they only publish this offer for free advertising.

As it launches on the 9th Dec, they may post in a few days, but last year they had a map with all the participating pubs on. Pretty sure it's be on the pass that OP has linked to.

Very HOT!

Only in a country like ours would they "reward" you for not drinking.

Pathetic.

And actually nothing worse than sitting there with your glass of cola whilst everyone else is getting smashed.

You have choices: walk to the pub, get a taxi home, get a bus, get a train, get someone else to pick you up....just don't drive drunk and risk killing yourself and others. I won't kill to have a coke - but getting smashed might.

I'm no Coca-Cola fan, but well done to them for offering summat for nowt!

This seems like quite the opposite of what I'd expect from a 'Country like ours'.
We have quit the binge drinking culture. I've had to be the designated driver on nights out before, and although its cheaper to buy soft drinks, getting them for free would be a nice bonus.

If the price of soft drinks was cheaper then maybe we'd have less drink drivers anyway!
Last time I was out and asked for a pint of Coke as I was driving it cost £3.80!!
Those drinking lager/bitter were "only" charged £3.90 for their drinks!

Fantastic idea, if only it wasn't CocaCola who seem to own everything these days!!!

Designated driver? stop being so miserable and get a taxi!!

Seems like it'll depend massively on the pub in question, and how festive the bar staff/manager feels on the particular day you get there.

Only right too , Drivers have been ripped off for so long in pubs

Bloody good idea

That's not true. Coke are definitely funding free stock for a major UK pub group which sells 3rd party drinks to independent freetrade pubs.

The campaign for POS kits just launched last week so I doubt many pubs have the posters etc up yet.

What if you don't LIKE Coke??

Drawn the short straw? Its call a taxi.

Thanks

Well I guess some people like Pepsi but I can't stand the taste, I'm not a Pepsi loser - I'm a Coke WINNER!!!

Coke is the champion No 1 drink for the simple reason: it tastes far better than Pepsi.

The coca cola vs pepsi debate is as dumb as the console debate, it's basically the exact same product, they are both cola products, like the consoles, both console products, just with slight differences and both have a winner, neither consoles are the winner and neither pepsi or coca cola are the winner, Dr Pepper & PC are the winners.

Pubs are bad!

Can't say that, you'll get the Tango and the Mac fanboys all riddled with rage! ;D

Great idea why can't this happen all year round

At the local ones to me you can get like a bottle of lager for a quid, or a pint of lager for under £2 but a cola is like £2.60
