Mmm, thanks for that.
Oooo.. I wouldn't trust that with the weight of a 27" effectively cantilever along the edge.
I have a bad mental image of a tile nibbler..
I'd probably knock it and end up with a notch cut along the edge of my desk with my 27" heading to the floor
(most likely though the remainder rest of my desk)
Good deal though - I already have the one from Amazon posted a few weeks ago and was after another.
or maybe fix something to the wall behind the glass desk for this to then clamp onto??
Fantastic price and find though. Have some heat.
Some of the other VonHaus brackets for 2/3 monitors have abysmal reviews, but I think this one looks pretty safe.
Personally, I am looking for something sturdy to support a triple monitor setup and it doesn't look like these will do the job
- Arm-hinges are broad and are well up to the job
- Desk-clamp has two bolts to spread the weight (one is OK for single screen but more means extra leverage make it loose over time)
- Height-clamp is also very strong with plenty of surface area to grip with
Complaints I've read about these stands are always non-existent on the one I have.
For £20, if you're basically gonna clamp it and leave it there, I'm sure this one will be fine but I tend to move my screens occasionally and I don't believe it would stand up well.
You see those hanging heavy reinforced glass panes on steel rails at the sides of walkways in shopping centres and offices etc...
They're not really for clamping stuff to a glass desk. Not saying don't use your engineering know-how to make it work but like EdinSimon said - tile nibbler...
If you're worried about the desk supporting the clamp then consider a thin flat metal plate between the clamp and the desk to spread the load.
except its not
and as you can see - I agreed with a follow up post - if doing something like that it would need to be bigger because of the nibbling effect - or applying stresses within a small area would cause the glass to break.

Yes I did read that. Maybe I should have said a glass desk is not for clamping too rather than this clamp isn't for clamping to a glass desk. If you have a desk made of serious reinforced glass that's literally made for it, whoever made the desk could engineer a clamping system. Sounds like glass deskies need wall mounts.
Agreed but ugly, given owner bought glass desk. Sounds like what I'd do. In fact my Lavolta has ply increasing footprint of clamp by an inch all round.
Just seen this for mounting under a cabinet above the desk.
My bad, it's £19.99 indeed, which is a good price btw
