The full game is a trial, right?

For those that may not have seen it before, WARFRAME is a free game on steam to easily rival Destiny/2. Its free but they don't shove micro-transactions at you. Check out video reviews on youtube. Such as:

Pc trial and I might just have a look.

Time to see how much of a disappointment it turned out to be.

Xbox???

will have to remember to download this tomorrow, cant preload yet D:
how long does this trial last though?

It' a decent game...better than the 1st and I didn't notiice any microtransactions shoved in my face??

Microtransactiongate nowadays

It does have flaws but still awesome game I have three maxed out characters and still playing maybe I need to get out more.......

Lube you up before you bend over

Seriously though - Cheers for the heads up
I've been boycotting this after cancelling the Destiny 1 Direct Debit but it'll be good to see what I'm missing

I hope that it gives you an end game character template or something otherwise this is pointless for newcomers to see what its all about. I couldn't wait for the game but my enthusiasm lasted for a couple of weeks after release and then fizzled out. Its just so boring

You didn't notice the eververse store? It's the only place in the game that you can get ships, sparrows (crappy green ones can be bought with normal ingame money after finishing the story) , ghost shells and many other things that dropped in the main game in Destiny

I won't be touching this game after they cheated their playerbase out of XP, it sounds trivial but a lie is a lie.

Deceiving the player is hardly trivial. Even their "fix" comes nowhere near returning the game to what it should be.

For those that don't know, the game gives you proressively lower amounts of xp the more you play certain elements of it. Whilst this may not inherently sound bad, the game makes you think that you are receiving the full xp each time. This was only discovered by players deeply analysing the game. This makes it much harder for serious players to progress. Why penalise the most dedicated players for putting in long hours to progress.....

I don’t see why there’s so much hate for destiny 2. I loved the game. Took me around 80 hours to get max light and finish the story twice before I stopped playing. Looking forward to the DLC on the 5th to give me more things to do.

A heads up on this game, it is fun for the first month, but once you've maxed out your character, there is nothing entertaining to do apart from constantly re-run the raid or PvP, worth giving the free trial a go though.

Xbox???

Yes the free trial is also for Xbox one and PC.

Really enjoying it, its not all great but its still destiny. I dont understand the hardcore hate some gamers have for certain titles these days. I prescribe less soapboxing more playing.

Here is the correct info we all wanted: Bungie and Activision are releasing a free trial version of Destiny 2 on Nov. 28. The free trial will be available on PlayStation 4, Windows PC (via Battle.net) and Xbox One.

The loot pool is so thin , that when you get the same legendary gun five times it can lead not to hate but despair.

You'll finish the campaign in about 8 to 10 hours, then it's public events, adventures, strikes, crucible, raid. And you'll get a tonne of loot, well actually a tonne of crap loot...

I second giving Warframe a try. However it’s completely unfair to suggest Destiny shoves micro transactions at you.

The Eververse store is not a real world money only vendor though. Yes it’s the only place to get some cosmetic stuff like ships/sparrows/emotes and some game effecting things like ghosts but there’s no need to spend any real money on them.

You can earn Bright Engrams at a steady pace just by playing the game. You get given 3 just for completing the story, then they give you an XP buff every week to speed up getting more. With 3 characters I can easily get between 6-9 bright engrams each week.

Everything from Eververse is purely cosmetic, it isn't shoved in your face and not buying any microtransactions doesn't effect the game at all.

The only way to get a sparrow before completing the game is to get one from an eververse bright engram. In destiny 1 you got one from an early mission. Even though ghost shell perks are a bit rubbish now , again you can only get them from eververse. Both of these things DO effect the game.
Other changes effect it a lot more but we'll not go into that.
Just to clarify too, I was a day 1 Destiny player and stuck with it the whole way through with 3 characters with 1000+ hours and multiple completions of all raids at all difficulties. With D2 I've also got my 3 characters at max level with multiple Leviathan raid completions, so I'm probably a 'hardcore' Destiny player and they pretty much lost me about a month ago because the end game is pretty much grinding bright engrams at the minute ( I've got full eververse armour sets on all characters).

Fair point, I completely forgot about the sparrows and ghosts.

Not sure why I keep seeing posts about Warframe within Destiny threads. The game is vaguely similar, it's sci fi and you shoot stuff, but for better or worse I wouldn't compare it to Destiny.

TBH they should've waited until The Curse of Osiris drops to release the trial, there are supposed to be a raft of improvements and fixes coming. Sooner they drop the token system and put some proper grind back in the game the better.

You say that, but I have over 2500 hours in Destiny 1, Destiny 2 is good (I've run 3 characters through it and have 200 hours in the game... 100% achievements complete), but it's currently flawed, it will be fixed by Bungie I'm sure - as vanilla D1 was, but Warframe is my go to in Destiny dry periods, it is quite incredible.

Can't seem to find it on PS4, it just takes me to the full game on the PS Store.
Is it available from a particular time today??

I agree with a lot of what you are saying but not having a sparrow to complete the story missions for the first time was really no big deal. The campaign in destiny is about 8-10 and for the most part not having a sparrow was no big deal.

Micro-transactions are no big deal in destiny, i have gotten lots of exotic weapon ornaments, exotic ships, sparrows, Armour by just playing the game and earning bright engrams. The biggest problem which you have mentioned is the end game which is severely lacking.

No I didn't...can' see the point in buying anything in this game anyway tbh...you get everything as u progress and not stingy like the 1st game

Wow, that comment made me almost choke on my tea. Saddest thing I've ever read. You wasted 3.4 months of your life (7 months if you count the day as 12 hours) EVEN MORE if you consider you had other things to do during the day on this game.

Jesus. Bless you Mate. Hope you had fun but still. Wow.

How to access the free trial?

Will it release later tonight ??

PC - i have battle.net

So, was this a PR stunt?
or was it withdrawn due to harsh Twitter comments?

edit: now live (get via the "Destiny 2 - Game + Expansion Pass Bundle" on PSN):
store.playstation.com/en-…PRE

And to answer my earlier question - it's playable until midnight on Sunday.
34.5 GB on PS4 in case anyone is wondering...
Looks like I won't be playing tonight then

Yeah mate, I played it for three full years without much other gaming on anything else, I have thankfully not the same need to play Destiny 2 as basically it's not as good. I run my own business, so this was my relaxing time, I can honestly say, I think I got value for money out of Destiny 1, I'm not sure I'll feel the same about the second installment.
