i'm a destiny 2 fan, but this is a very misleading deal title - you're basically quoting the rrp of shadowkeep, but including cos and warmind in the title for some reason which are now free

a bit pointless in terms of a "deal" - people who aren't already in the d2 eco-system now have the opportunity to dip their toes for free with new light (the free version of destiny 2), if they enjoy that they can buy shadowkeep if they want - most people who want shadowkeep have already bought it and are waiting patiently for tomorrow

Arnt curse of Osiris and warming about to be free?

I ain’t the biggest destiny fan but yes I believe this is true, it’s whatever the one last year (Forsaken?) that’s not included so buying this gets you this years content and doesn’t include everything so kinda silly. (Dunno If Forsaken? Was meant to be any good mind, so it could have been terrible)
So if you buy ShadowKeep, does it include Forsaken as well?

Oddly enough, plenty of reviews to Google.
Surprised this isn't ice cold, bad price for a DLC. You're crazy if you support them asking these prices. What is it about £150+ for everything they will have charged?

No different to buying FIFA or Call of Duty every year. Remember Destiny 2 has been out a few years now

Bad price for a DLC? Every other "Expansion" DLC costs around the same for other games. Look at WoW, Final Fantasy XIV, The Guildwars series and Elder Scrolls Online, I'm sure if you add up just one of those games total dlc cost, you will find that some may surpass that total cost that you posted.

£180 if you bought the deluxe editions every year day one. Or just over a pound a week for the 3 years worth of dlc.

No different to buying any other yearly franchise.

It's marmite but I play it a lot so no arguement over value for me.

Hardly any game DLC costs this much for what you get. Last 2 DLC i bought was Far Cry 5 season pass that came with loads of little dlc packs, 3 story DLC and a full game (FC3C)

Assassin's Creed Odyssey season pass which came with loads of little bonus stuff plus 6 DLC episodes and 2 full games!

Bungie are charging almost full game price for each of their DLC, it should be a 1 off payment of £30 for everything. No wonder the game is going F2P

hardly any games as a service, game can compete with destiny 2 - especially for the console market - why do you think it's still going after 5 years...they're obviously doing something right that other companies want to replicate (ea - anthem rip)

it's £30 for a main yearly dlc (how much is wow a month?) and you can pay for each season individually on an optional basis, if you're interested in that content - the games you have mentioned don't even come close to destiny 2 in terms of revenue, player base, popularity and longevity

just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's not successful

if it's not for you, just don't play it and go play the other hundreds of new games on offer - but the consistent comments of destiny haters over 5 years, just don't hold any credence anymore (i.e. not every game is made specifically for you)

I feel like my statement was pretty straightforward, this is the normal price for an "expansion" DLC, so it's not just a bunch of small things added, it's something significant, that will take you many hours to complete, most likely longer than a conventional game (the reason they can charge the amount for a total close to a cost of a game).

This is not just a bungie thing, this is not a season pass, this is an expansion. In fact, this is cheap compared to what the last WOW and Guildwars 2 expansion retailed for.

Let's break down the last DLC Expansions for Destiny.

Curse of Osiris and Warmind was 30ish pounds (together), but at that price you got both of them. Both Expansions had more content than the base game did (that's not really a credit to bungie, as back then the base game was pretty shit.)

Then we had Forsaken, that was around the price of this current new expansion, Forsaken was Massive, and very well received, if I could estimate I would say it had more content than the base game and the last two expansions combined.

Now this one.

I'm not sure where you are getting this information that they are pushing out DLC at a fast pace and charging people absurd amounts for them.

The only other DLC was the optional season pass for Forsaken.

Well said Ryo Hazuki.

Now, I hope all Destiny 2 players and new players watch the lore videos on youtube by 'my name is byf' and 'myelin games'.

Agreed. The deal should be the Shopto credit, not a game at RRP.

Forsaken was great - it fixed everything that was wrong with D2 Year 1 and had lots of great modes (forges) and special one-off quests (Whisper, Outbreak). Or had some great raids and some excellent pinnacle weapons. It did have a weak Gambit season.

Fortunately the game fixes will be applied to this version too. Just in time for some nerfs and a new meta

I'm not quoting it mate the PlayStation store is? In terms of pointless if you mean me paying less than 5 of my other friends for the shadowkeep dlc and all of us playing it on launch then I guess it must be.... Not everyone will know about the "free" destiny 2 game so by including it here people can see it is included and they can play it all for that price. why not just smile and appreciate someone's work.

I played OG destiny 2 back at release and got to max level. If I want to jump back in now, what do I need to purchase to have all available content (outside of the yearly pass)?

forsaken and shadowkeep - i think forsaken is between 10-20 and as quoted in the deal shadowkeep is 30 - the annual pass content became free with forsaken owners in a recent patch update and the original dlc's curse of osiris and warmind come free with new light (the new free version of the game) - you don't need forsaken however to play shadowkeep

I'm lost with destiny now. Bought the first two dlc for destiny 2 and I have no idea what has been since and I don't wanna spend 30 at a time again. Maybe when there's a complete version I'll buy it
Shadowkeep is the last dlc for destiny 2 now so if you buy an edition which includes Forsaken you’ll be good and it’s a hell of a lot of content

This. I’ve picked up Shadowkeep and the Season pass for £40-odd by getting a discounted £50 PSN card. That will last me until this time next year. £40 for a solid year of gaming? No brainier.

Nip out and get a cheap copy of Forsaken. You won’t be disappointed. Tonnes of content.
