Before I speak about the deal and the thread descends into mis- information here are the facts

you don't need a step down transformer
there are no more custom/postage or any other fees to pay, Amazon charge you for all that so the price you see is the price you pay

The warranty is with Amazon, I have returned things to Amazon US before that are faulty and they always refund the P+P

NOTE! if you are a blur ray film fan, this console will be region 1, so if you own region 2 blue ray films, they wont play

Hope that stops the people who try to claim otherwise.

The price is based on todays currency rate and using a card that does not charge a fee for buying in dollars, DONT use Amazons currency converter either as you will pay more.

You get the Vanguard pre order bonus here as well, as Game can only lock down the UK

if you need a credit card the Post office convert at Bank rate, charge no fee and is £40 quidco (thanks to chanchi for the info)

555 US Dollar equals

326.92 British Pound Sterling

I want to add this here so people see it clearly, you certainly get a 1 year warranty with Amazon, but I believe you will have to contact Sony USA not sony Europe if you don't use Amazon in the year

you have time, get the Post office card, they give bank rate and no fee for currency, also £25 quidco if I recall

voted hot, but when I've tried to order from Amazon US before, they've rejected my order. if it works, defo amazing deal imo.

amazon wont post everything to your address from their site, and it is quite annoying now with the new battery law that came in. I always add things to my cart then go checkout, and if they don't you will get a message telling you...

this item they do

£40 Quidco for post office credit card, £42 TCB premium. Safer to go through Quidco as cashback is still paid if the application is referred and then accepted whereas TCB is for an instant online accept.

Cheers just ordered thanks

it's coming to $554.96 after import duty and taxes.

Blu ray region?

Blu ray region?

Locked to region 1

Forgive my ignorance but how can it be guaranteed that you don't get whacked by HMRC for import duty?

It certainly used to be a gamble when I imported car parts from time to time - a bit and miss but there was always the risk unless the seller underdeclared the consignment value.

Admittedly that was a few years ago but I don't think things have changed much? Happy to be corrected though....

well the games work the world over, but for films I am not 100% sure, I would guess Multi region, do Blue Rays even do region locking anymore?

Christ it is the 21st century, film companies need to wake up to that

Also dlc is region locked so an american account will be needed to buy that.

Amazon bill you...

basically Amazon have a deal with HMRC that they will collect the fees on the HMRC behalf, so when it arrives in this country HMRC already know it has been properly charged...

several companies do this now, even Ebay, it is the benefit of modern technology

I will add it mate, I certainly never left it out on purpose. I have not bought a blue ray in many a year since I got fibre broadband (if you get my drift) I am staggered they still lock films by region

thx for the heads up

The Power Supply Unit is internal. Stepdown transformers are not required only will the power source is external e.g Brick Unit like Xbox 360 or GameCube Slim
PS Two

Plugging in a UK Fig8 lead im pretty sure from the uk will blow the console

and yes dvds playback will be region 1 and blu ray will be region A

UK blu ray is region b so will not work

The PS4 is multi voltage from 110 - 240v as far as I am aware.

disagree 100% on the power The PS4 power supply is capable of 100v-240v at 50Hz or 60Hz so it will work fine without a power converter

Although, It seems somewhat of a gamble if you take the word from the US Playstation Knowledge Centre.

That and the DLC locking puts me off, think I'll wait for a good deal over here. If one doesn't come up I'll go with the US price as I don't see that moving very much.

nice 1 and thanks for the reply

555 dollars equals about 420 euro. I think the bundle retails in the rest of Europe for about 440-450? Personally I'd advice getting a EU bundle because it's a lot less hassle for returns/warranty/region coding.

This deal is a lot of hassle, yes its cheaper not by much but a saving is a saving if it breaks you have to send it back to amzon US and there's no guarantee they will pay the P & P JUST because the Op states he had it done once wow. save yourself the bother

If anyone is wondering what Destiny is like, I was very impressed with the beta. Reminds me a lot like Borderlands and the co-op play is hugely fun.

yup..just register an US psn account then to redeem the dlc. Then switch to your current UK account and play as usual
