Before I speak about the deal and the thread descends into mis- information here are the facts

you don't need a step down transformer
there are no more custom/postage or any other fees to pay, Amazon charge you for all that so the price you see is the price you pay

The warranty is with Amazon, I have returned things to Amazon US before that are faulty and they always refund the P+P

NOTE! if you are a blur ray film fan, this console will be region 1, so if you own region 2 blue ray films, they wont play

Hope that stops the people who try to claim otherwise.

The price is based on todays currency rate and using a card that does not charge a fee for buying in dollars, DONT use Amazons currency converter either as you will pay more.

You get the Vanguard pre order bonus here as well, as Game can only lock down the UK

if you need a credit card the Post office convert at Bank rate, charge no fee and is £40 quidco (thanks to chanchi for the info)

555 US Dollar equals

326.92 British Pound Sterling

I want to add this here so people see it clearly, you certainly get a 1 year warranty with Amazon, but I believe you will have to contact Sony USA not sony Europe if you don't use Amazon in the year

Ok so on the American USA model.
    No uk blurays will work
    No dlc on uk games
Will need to buy a uk plug
If it breaks will be loads of hassle getting it sorted
    Why would any bother

Wait for shopto to do there 299 deals on black ps4 uk model new on ebay shop and I'm sure there will be some online shop that will be selling destiny on pre order for the 37 or 38 mark with a code. I rather have black console over white imported console with all the annoying problems.,

It certainly used to be a gamble when I imported car parts from time to time - a bit and miss but there was always the risk unless the seller underdeclared the consignment value. Admittedly that was a few years ago but I don't think things have changed much? Happy to be corrected though....

    Amazon bill you...

basically Amazon have a deal with HMRC that they will collect the fees on the HMRC behalf, so when it arrives in this country HMRC already know it has been properly charged...

several companies do this now, even Ebay, it is the benefit of modern technology

Yea I'm aware of that. what I'm saying is most people like all there stuff tied to the one account. also if you take into consideration the locked blu ray player for me just seems a little bit too much hastle for basically half a PS4.

Good deal for people that don't mind though.

    I'm so conflicted.

Xbox 360 and Wii launch in white and release newer black models later on.

PS4 launches in black and now there's a white one.

I swear these colour variants have nothing to do with desirability but are just for those who like to be contrarian.

DLC is only locked to the region of the disc you buy. If you buy a UK game, you download UK dlc. If you buy an American disc, you have to buy American dlc.

Doesn't matter where the console comes from.

DLC is based on the disc, so UK disc UK DLC, US disc US DLC, so DLC will work, UK plug will cost about 69p, if it breaks it is no more hassle than using amazon UK

so the blue rays is your only valid point

No problem, and I'm looking forward to PES too. Hopefully it will be good as I'm tired of FIFA and just want a good football game.

    Blu ray region?

well the games work the world over, but for films I am not 100% sure, I would guess Multi region, do Blue Rays even do region locking anymore?

Christ it is the 21st century, film companies need to wake up to that

amazon wont post everything to your address from their site, and it is quite annoying now with the new battery law that came in. I always add things to my cart then go checkout, and if they don't you will get a message telling you...
