Wow, so it's officially cheaper to buy the game all over again than buy the expansion now? Rather than a pound or two more. Feel very conflicted about how to vote, so I might abstain! Nice find.

Personally not quite sure how anybody could vote this cold. It seems quite apparent and unfortunate that Destiny: The Taken King - The Legendary Edition now seems to show that HUKD is voting based on opinion over actual value.

As mentioned above, you are getting here

-The base game.
-The Dark Below
-The House of Wolves
-The Taken King

The last of which retails at £40 on the Playstation Store alone. Both my Xbox One console and my Playstation 4 console are available much cheaper on a daily basis than what I paid, it's almost like me voting every deal I see involving an X1 or PS4 cold just because I paid more.

great find its just a shame those who bought it already have spent more than that this year

Hmmmm £40 for a game that's been out nearly a year and dlc that's quite frankly gets a fair tubbing, quite a valid reason for voting cold I feel.
Appriciated that this is probably cheapest about whoever does actually want this.
Pretty sure anybody who hasnt been hiding under a rock bought this on or around release date or has bought it 2nd hand for just over a tenner and played it thru anyway.
Think the dlc is mainly multilayer add ons too and I thought the multi player side of it sucked.

Are there scheduled to be any more expansion packs after this one? Does anyone know?

It's great value if you're a new player if however you supported bungie from the beginning it's incredibly cheeky I think.

voted cold simply because I fell for the trickery of this at launch

Another 9 years worth, if Bungie/Activision don't manage to upset all their existing players!

That doesn't even make any sense! If you supported them from the beginning you will carry on supporting them? You seem to be the only person who doesn't know they are sticking with this project for around 10 years. And if you are going to carry on supporting them The Taken King is £40 on the PlayStation store. What trickery? It ain't witchcraft is it?

Yes two more before Destiny 2

(Heat by the way as great value for new players)

Edited by: "jaystan" 5th Jul 2015

you could sell the game for a tenna I guess, I'm hoping the dlc will just go on sale at some point

Good price considering what the new DLC will cost. The new DLC is ridiculously overpriced though considering some people have already spent £75 on the game already.

Just checked on Xbox one and the digital collectors edition is £74.99! In that regard, having on disc for £39.85 (ps4/xbox1) does seem like a good deal in terms of the rrp.

The £74.99 Collectors has more stuff (£20 emotes and class items). So even if you removed those this is £15 cheaper.

Heat from me, great price. if you've already got the base game but not the two existing expansions this is a very good deal, especially as you get a legendary limited edition sparrow and a shader I think, amongst some other stuff.

To the user earlier who was commenting on the multiplayer not being all that, nope, IMHO you're incorrect - just my opinion of course, but that's the best bit of the game. I've met some great gamers through this game.

Voted Hot because it is a hot deal. People seem to have different ideas about how the voting system works now. I personally, will vote hot on a deal that I think is the best current price for the item. I won't vote cold just because I personally don't like the product. That's how I vote. Each to there own. Clearly HUKD voting has less merit these days to what I 'personally' felt was a site that guided someone to what the current cheapest deal is at the time for something. Which is how I personally feel the voting should work. However, I don't run this site. I didn't create it. I don't mod on it and therefore I have no say in it. I just have an opinion of how I believe it should (and actually did use to) work when it comes to voting. I respect that we all have different opinions though. That being said, back on topic of this deal, I can't believe a piece of DLC is £40 on the store. That is just crazy pricing, even if you love the game. Not for me though, I think the MP is terrible and the maps are poor.

I think people are just bitter (and I would be two) that the game and the dlcs are going for the same price as the latest DLC alone. I bought it on launch for £30 digitally unfortunately so I can't recuperate any funds. But if I was looking to get back into it, this is by far the cheapest way to catch up currently and on those merits this deal is incredibly good value

well I jumped on the hype train with this and bought digitally at launch played it and found the game to be a hollow shell of a game padded out with ludicrously priced dlc that offered not a lot more to the base game.

so that's why I wouldn't continue to support them, the taken king would have to be pretty spectacular for me to part with that much money for dlc.

it doesn't make any sense to me personally if you own destiny and the two expansion packs why anyone would consider paying that much money for dlc each to their own I guess.

Don't give bungievision your money.

that is all.

Do SimplyGames take payment on order or dispatch? I own the original game but never purchased the expansions, so it's essentially £80 of DLC for less than £40!

great value for the lot.
£40 for just the taken king dlc is outrageous but I've played from day one so will be getting it, managed to get 4 of the £10 Amazon gift cards (for £5.99) so it will ease the blow.

Payment for order will be captured when we dispatch your items unless your order was placed more than 28 days before the official release date. In this case your payment will be captured within 21 days of your order placed.

Does anyone know if all the DLC packs come as separate codes? If I buy this I want to be able to give away the first 2 DLC packs to a friend as I already have them.

Great price. Should be hotter!

New DLC should be no more than £20 for people who already own the previous dlcs imo. But that shouldn't reflect on heat of this deal.

I don't no is this game worth a punt? a lot of mixed reviews.

Great price. With two more expansion packs happening after this one, what could be the chances of seeing a complete edition in another year or so? Or do they usually just do it once meaning will have to pay for the next two separately?

I think there is a timed 'demo' on the store, download that and have a look. I was a huge FPS fan, played most of them over the years, got the Platinums and Achievements just to give you an idea how much I've played them, and personal opinion is that I think Destiny is massively overhyped. Despite the fact they are in very many ways different in setup, I found it to replicate a few things from a free game called Warframe which I couldn't get out of my head at the time. I put in around 100 hours but have no intention in going back. I also think the DLC is hugely overpriced. That being said, one of my best friends had pretty much only played this since it's release last year. He's bought other games but he's never on them. Over 800 hours he's played on it, and he's married with a full time job lol. For him it's the best FPS ever, and he's played his fair share. So, in short, it's Marmite.

Seems a good deal, now I assume there are the disc with the vanilla Destiny game on it, then separate cards with download codes for The Dark Below, House of Wolves and The Taken King? This being the  case, I could take and use the download code for The Taken King and sell the disc and the other 2 codes that I don't need. Can anyone confirm if I'm interpreting this correctly?

Playing into Bungies hands for more expensive DLC...

Good for newbies though

biggest problem for me with Destiny was it just didn't feel like a full game ... this is how it should've released in the first place.

Bungie have confirmed this now but in order to play any of this dlc you'll need to buy Gnop!, Operation: Desert Storm, Minotaur: The Labyrinths of Crete, Pathways into Darkness, Marathon, Marathon 2: Durandal, Abuse, Marathon Infinity, Weekend Warrior, Myth: The Fallen Lords, Myth II: Soulblighter, Oni, Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Reach, Crimson: Steam Pirates.

They've already done a great job of that

Lots of salty comments/people. This is one of those times when having an opinion about anything and everything goes against basic facts. Is this the cheapest you can get Destiny and all the included dlc, physical or digital? Yes. So, vote hot. Else, point us in the direction where it can be got cheaper. You can't? Then, silence would be useful here. Voted Hot!

I don't own Destiny and I don't have any plans to buy it anytime soon. But I recognise a good deal when I see one. It's not rocket science, just a fact.

Voting on deals I think is in part about the value a deal offers as well as purely being the lowest the price.

To new players, it's excellent value. For old players, it's terrible value. They have to buy something they already own 75% of to keep playing.

Also if you are buying it purely for the DLC, it's quite likely this costs £10 than the previous two bought together (depend on your method of purchase).

Value will always be subjective and it's only good value to someone like yourself who hasn't played.

I do recognise this is the cheapest price for either the DLC or the whole game however and credit to OP for that. But I can't vote it hot because it doesn't represent good value to me.
