Kills 99.9% of bacteria for hygienically clean laundry, even at 20°C.

Disinfect your laundry in an eco-conscious, cost-effective way with Dettol Antibacterial Laundry Cleanser.

Bacteria can survive when washing with detergent alone and at a temperature below 60°C, but Dettol Laundry Cleanser kills it — even at 20°C — so you can be confident that your laundry's hygienically clean every time!

Suitable for all fabrics, our non-bio liquid eliminates odour-causing bacteria and leaves your laundry with 12 hours of freshness, even when left damp in the washing machine!

Directions

In your Washing Machine: add 2 capfuls to the fabric softener drawer of your washing machine. Soaking: add 1 cap to 2.5L of water at 20ºC for 10 minutes. Soaking to kill viruses: add 1 cap to 2.5L of water and leave to soak for 15 mins.

Have people found a difference with this product?
I've stopped using it and have been using vinegar instead. To remove any odour from clothing

49454224-3aRNb.jpgIt's a con. The *very* small print says you need to soak for 15 minutes for it to work. No washing machine soaks clothes for 15 minutes during the rinse cycle (when the fabric conditioner draw is emptied).
Get the Calgon anti bac liquid - it's more expensive but goes in with the washing powder and works as designed during the wash.

All soap and washing detergent is anti-bacterial by default.
This is snake oil for washing machines.

Is it though? I understand laundry detergent removes dirt, oil etc. but isn't anti-bacterial / anti-viral. Bacteria is only killed at temperatures well above a typical 30/40 degrees C. clothes wash so without some form of anti-bacterial solution, a clothes wash at lower temps isn't killing bacteria (it might be moving it around the drum and a lot flushed out at the end with the dirty water - but there will be bacteria remaining on your clothes). All I can say is that I definitely find clothes smell fresh many weeks later using this sort of stuff compared to before I started using it.

Washing machine never has any horrible or stale smell anymore either (edited)

Wouldn’t a cap of normal Dettol or Zoflora work the same ? And a lot cheaper.

Since we have been using this along with a splash of conditioner.. we no longer get black mould in the Soap drawer. It's as clean as a whistle. Prior, one of my most hated jobs was to try to remove the mould from the depth of the drawer.
We do leave the door and the drawer open when not in use also, but until we added this stuff (or a similar Supermarket offering) we still used to suffer.
Now a thing of the past thank goodness. For that alone we will continue using it.

Mine is order is on an S&S at £8.40 but the post office delivered my Amazon parcel and one of the bottles leaked. Lost about a third. Needless to say, Amazon refunded the lot.

So could it be used as a machine cleanser once in a while then?

    £8.40 S&S...now we're nearly getting back to pre-covid prices

£9 for me with SS thanks

Same deal rinsed and repeated every few weeks, always the same price.
Here's the last one from January 2nd which expired 6 days ago.
    No surprises, it's still £12 or £10.80 / £8.40 on S&S.

I'm extremely sceptical of this product. Don't all soaps and detergents get rid of dirt, germs and bacteria anyway. I thought that was the whole point of them?

Now their trying to tell us that soap and detergents that we've used for decades. Don't work anymore in cool or cold water and only get rid of dirt, grease, and stains. But leave behind all the germs, bacteria and microbes. So now we simply must buy and use this aswell, as washing detergent and fabric conditioner/softener (which really damage fabrics eventually, but slowly).

I can't honestly say I have noticed a difference in the clothes to be fair. But I assume the action of it being in the detergent drawer and misting the inside of it when dispensed, means it does something. Even if that is just cleaning the machine in places that are hard to reach. It's honestly quite astounding the difference.
We did try just using the cleanser with no conditioner! That was not so good. So we use a capful of both. It says to use two capfuls, but after you put the conditioner in and close the drawer - the level of liquid is enough to trigger the auto-syphon that the conditioner drawers use to dispense. You can hear it emptying into the drum, and then the washing machine does its pre-drain before it starts.. spitting the stuff down the drain lol
I honestly would say give it a try at this price. We were impressed.

(If this were a HUKD for Calgon .. that would be a different kettle of dish) (edited)

How does this differ from bog standard cheapo disinfectant?

We used to use the Tesco one which was much cheaper, and we could not tell the difference. Smelt nicer I thought. But it shot up in price, making my S&S cheaper.

I put it in with the towels (I've reduced temp to 50), sheets, and the towels the dog uses (she likes a nice shower in the morning!) Everything else just washing detergent.

This helps rid the smell form gym gear which is caused by lingering bacteria. Thats my main use for it and it does the job.
