Description
The year is 2052 and the world is a dangerous and chaotic place. Terrorists operate openly - killing thousands; drugs, disease and pollution kill even more. The world's economies are close to collapse and the gap between the insanely wealthy and the desperately poor grows ever wider. Worst of all, an ages old conspiracy bent on world domination has decided that the time is right to emerge from the shadows and take control.

Key Features:
  • Real role-playing from an immersive 3D, first-person perspective. The game includes action, character interaction and problem solving.
  • Realistic, recognizable locations. Many of the locations are built from actual blueprints of real places set in a near future scenario.
  • A game filled with people rather than monsters. This creates empathy with the game characters and enhances the realism of the game world.
  • Rich character development systems: Skills, augmentations, weapon and item selections and multiple solutions to problems ensure that no two players will end the game with similar characters.
  • Multiple solutions to problems and character development choices ensure a varied game experience. Talk, fight or use skills to get past obstacles as the game adapts itself to your style of play.
  • Strong storyline: Built on "real" conspiracy theories, current events and expected advancements in technology. If it's in the game, someone, somewhere believes.

Hope it helps someone.

Wow thats a serious blast from the past Thanks for sharing.
If Carlsberg made computer games.
Best game I've ever played on the PC. Heat

This game is epic..... I never got past the 1st level.

Run and gun was more my thing at the time. Maybe I need to try again. Then again I recently bought Bioforge and a few others which I didn't play much of at the time......and still haven't played them.

Sadly I have finally discovered GTA modding and I will probably never play another game in my life....Maybe there's a Deus Ex mod.
I spill my drink!
Amazing game.. Just a shame the sequels well 2 and 3 where based on consoles and destroyed the fan base.

Amazing company though promised multiplayer and they delivered it I think a year after release for free just to please fans if I remember right. Was crazy how many ways you could play this as well so many games copied it for decades.

All of the graphics in this game will look like Ceefax Teletext potatoes but this matters not as it's such a good game, and the only good game in the series.
Even today this stands out as my best gaming experience. No other game I've played since has made me feel like I had freedom to play how I want to play and have my choices commented on by other people in the game. As soon as I got told off for going in the women's toilets I was blown away. Then when you storm the Statue of Liberty and can kill the terrorist or have him arrested and straight away the guy (Alex?) comments on your actions....I even killed Agent Navaro (sp? the female cyborg) on the plane even though I wasn't told to or maybe even the right time to do it...and again Alex popped up and commented on it saying he'd try and cover it up for me. Love the voice acting as well, JC sounds like a badass.

Showing your age there fishmaster!

Is this 'service' still alive?! Will need to investigate! I'm sure old biddies (and fishmaster) still prefer it over the fancy new 'world wide web'!

Does this help? store.steampowered.com/app…on/

I enjoyed Invisible War on the original Xbox although I never competed it as I saved my game as I was dying and got caught in a death loop

Probably the best augmentation for DX that's in keeping with the original: gmdxmod.com/

DX: Revision in my opinion went too far.

Funnily enough I started a new playthrough of DX (with GMDX, on Linux) only a few days ago. Gonna go for stealth no fatalities again

If you can get past the dated combat, it's well worth giving a chance. It's so much more immersive than the newer games.

It makes the game less potato, but I smell potato even with those revisions.

I typed 'Women's toilets YouTube' in to Google and well that's another fine mess you've got me in to.

It's that time again where I find myself in the weird corner of the Internet. It's good advice though to stay out of the ladies restroom, I'm going to write it down 100 times on a bit of paper, (actually in Word as I can just copy and paste it, much easier) then I should remember.

Haha I hope I've saved you from potential HR issues.

Having the boss mention it in the meeting was so cool though. I didn't have to go in there, it's just what you do in video games isn't it? You're told to go one place but you look around everywhere else first when he told me that off I just thought this was going to be a special game.

Yeah, I'm glad it's a game, it's much worse when it happens at work.
Still my favourite game of all time, I still have the massive PC game box sitting about somewhere. I've heard there is a mod for this game with a good story, voice acting and a good play time, must check that out one of these days as I own the GOTY edition on Steam. This game is ripe for a HD remaster.

"What a shame."
One of my favourite games ever, played it when first released (or around that time). Have been tempted to play it again but not sure if that is a good idea, might spoil the good memories.

Agree this is a great game and the best but Human Revolution was also great. Mankind divided was mediocre but still worth a play. Didn't play Invisible War.
