I've pre-ordered it, might as well, looks as though amazon don't charge you until they despatch the game. Great price for what will hopefully be a fantastic game!

Great gameplay trailer

Colours look a little bland to say the least.

Console port ahoy!

Yes. If this game doesn't play well with keyboard/mouse I'll shove this game up Square's ....

PC gamers must love buying games, it's always so much cheaper than consoles.

Unfortunately the market for PC action games has been pretty thin on the ground for the last few years and, unless you're into WOW, the wait between quality games is quite long.

When I say "quality" that usually refers to games that aren't a console port. Valve are one of the few reliable PC game developers. Whether Square can produce a quality Deus Ex for PC waits to be seen. Rant over.

Cover mechanic. Check.
Ridiculously overpowered weapons & abilities to compensate for the ham-fisted controller. Check.
Dumbed down UI to work-around the lack of pointer-driven input device. Check.
Puddle-deep plot to accomodate for the attention span of the target demographic. Check.
Mono-dimensional characters; One per character stereotype. Check.

I'd love for this game to play brilliantly, have a rich and thought provoking plot, and have engaging, multifaceted characters.
However, i've been burned far too many times by console ports & shoddy sequels to risk hoping.
Definitely won't be pre-ordering.

As to the deal - is £30 really a good price for a PC pre-order?
£15-£20 would be good, but @ £30 you are paying extra for the 'premium content' that should be in the game anyway.
This is just endorsing the practice of creating a two-tier system; a business practice that I despise because it fragments the player-base & fleeces customers of yet more money.

Blimey TehJumpingJawa, pessimistic or what! Let's hope you're wrong.

He's just being more realistic than the game ever will be about a great many things... :P
