Weird how they have stalled this series when this was the first part of a trilogy

Weird = low sales, maybe due to micro transactions in the campaign !!!!

You mean second. Damn Marvel. The second DLC is coming this month. But it's a separate mission; it won't advance the story which is a shame.

I find some of the negative reviews worrying. I think I might wait for this one to be sub £10.

Plus Square Enix games seem to tank in price quickly anyway.

Runs great on my PC:
CPU: i7-4790
GPU: GTX 970
RAM: 16GB DDR3

These are the settings I use:

I got 37 hours out of the game. £12 is a bargain!

Got you; so there is only one more game to come when made, dlc must of confused me. I like Human revolution a lot.

Waiting for a GOTY or complete edition with all DLC.

I don't want to support their DLC policy regarding the series so will only buy the whole game as a complete package, heavily discounted.

Heat for the price if you're happy buying two thirds of a game.

I played through this without any DLC and didn't feel like I'd missed out on any essential story or anything like that. Took just under 40 hours to complete and I skipped some side missions, for £12 that's a bargain.

If you enjoyed Human Revolution you will enjoy this! Don't expect much improvements though it's pretty much just more of the same.

helpful. I've had a right old time getting it to run well on my 1070. by well i mean above 50fps on benchmark. Your processor is neyter thsn mine though if it's a cpu hog. 3570k oc'd to 4.4ghz

The benchmark represents a worse case scenario. The areas shown in the benchmark run significantly better in the game. You don't need MSAA which is a real performance killer for any card, the temporal solution in the engine is very good indeed.

The first setting after this you should turn down is contact hardening shadows if you do need more performance. 'Ultra' to 'on' is fine. They never really worked properly in this game anyway. This is a big boost by itself in many areas.

Thanks for the verification i was thinking the benchmark was pretty useless as no matter what I changed the difference was 1 or 2 frames max.

I know msaa is a total resource hog and always avoid it. Couldn't see any difference in the contact hardening shadows.

Good to see that it's not overly indicative of actusl gameplay

I was tempted to pick up the Season Pass, but as I'm only interested in the Story DLC, that means paying £8.37 for each - which isn't much of a reduction, especially since the reviews for the first DLC are pretty poor. So I'm gonna hang on a while and see if it drops cheaper.

Edit: I just noticed that Steam have their bundle deal going, where you can pick up the whole series for cheap if you already own part of it - for me, that gets me the original DX, it's sequel, The Fall (which despite apparently being terrible I've always been intrigued to try) as well as the Season Pass for £14.85. That makes the deal much sweeter and is far more tempting! I've played all the DX games bar The Fall, but it'd be nice to have them all on Steam.

This was one of those games that came with consumable one time use DLC, so i cannot feel too much sympathy for it having poor sales, stuff like this nonsense should never be rewarded at any level, and we though season pass and microtransactions in the single player portion of a game were bad. lol

Really enjoyed the game, it is worth it for £12. Shame they didn't make it longer, it felt we got a quick ending and lot of gameplay still to do to advance the story. Still though, got plenty of hours from all the main and side missions.

I really wanted to like this series. I didn't like the first one so I won't get this. Good price though and very tempting to give it a go.

How long have they both been out for?

Tomb Raider was out in October. Think I paid £18 for it?

Edit: Paid £20 in a November Steam sale. I am sure the price will come down.

IIRC, Hitman the complete first season was only released 'fully' fairly recently like in the last few weeks.

A great game for the money.

I do not understand why your having issues playing this with your PC spec. The 1070 card is far superior to the 970 of the other chap, your CPU should not really throw up any problem either?
I can only ask if you have the latest drivers for your card and have the appropriate settings.
Close all programs as well while bench marking and use on-board sound instead of a sound card as this can have small negative effects on bench scores in some situations.
It can also be beneficial to move your PC away from a radiator or other heat source and make sure it can breathe properly with good air circulation around it.
I use a Asus ROG Strix 1070 card, an i7 processor and 16gb of ram with an ROG gaming motherboard and this game is silky smooth on my 27" ROG monitor on max settings...i will try and post a benchmark to compare.

rise of the tomb raider was released in January...

I find these games really drag on, the last one felt at least 5 hours too long, probably 10. They don't understand quality over quantity and I assume it's the same with this one?

Sorry bought the 20th Anniversary edition with all of tge DLC for that price. I am sure that was released in October.
