Devil May Cry HD Collection brings the first three original Devil May Cry titles; Devil May Cry, Devil May Cry 2, and Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening Special Edition together in one action packed collection. Featuring Dante, one of the most iconic video game characters of all time, Devil May Cry HD Collection is full of the award-winning gameplay and style that the series has become known for, now playable on modern consoles.

Originally debuting in 2001, Devil May Cry immediately redefined the action genre, with its signature emphasis on slaying demons with style. Son to a human mother and a devil father named Sparda, the half-demon Dante uses his innate abilities and the powers of ancient demons to fight a one-man war against the forces of darkness and save humanity from damnation. Devil May Cry 2 released in 2003 and centers on Dante and his new devilishly agile partner Lucia in their fight to defeat a man hell-bent on achieving supreme power. Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening Special Edition is the definitive edition of Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening, featuring a number of enhancements, including the opportunity to play as Dante's twin brother, Vergil, as well as the addition of Bloody Palace Mode and Turbo Mode.

Hope it helps someone.

Does this port in particular have quite a few bugs which mar the experience? Curious whether to buy it again or not as I have it on PS3 but fancy another run..

It’s exactly the same game. No difference between the PS3 and PS4 ports

Thanks - I know the PS3 had some minor issues but I heard through the grapevine that the PS4 was significantly worse. Not sure where I heard that...
Just finished DMC 1 for the first time and sometimes the music just stopped and started again, sounded very weird. I didn't notice any other problems but haven't tried the other 2 yet
Playing DMC5 at the moment. Slightly disappointed with it. Still think 1 and 3 are the best.

I didn't bother "upgrading" either. Side by side they are so similar (PS3/PS4), there's only so much you can do to a game that old without making a total remaster.

On the flip side I felt DmC really benefited being re-released on the PS4 as the frame rate was much nicer.

I wasn't taken by it either
First time through it had some nice surprises for us old fans but I haven't been drawn back to it for another run to collect/upgrade everything.
Astral Chain has my attention right now and feels great to play

Yeah there is so much to upgrade for all 3 characters. For sure it needs multiple play throughs.
I don't like the constant changing of characters - I'm at chapter 15, the game is easy enough but I don't feel particularly proficient in any of them.
Also the long load times really spoil the flow.

Isn’t that the PS4 upscaling it rather than the game itself being that?

Still a cracking price for 3 brilliant games
Hard to say no at that price heat

Dante's gameplay in 5 is more intricate than anything in DMC3. DMC3 was as smooth as butter so it's quite the statement. So it does have that going for it.

I’ve just replayed all 3 and didn’t experience any issues.
