It's a good spot, and no denying. I just hope you're pleased either yourself... I'm never going to get a new telly at this rate.

Heat added!

Anything for fellow HUKD. Better get this deal then if you're quick enough & prepared to travel. Specs are good minus smartweb features.

Good deal this for passthrough. £50 on amazon for reference.

cracking deal with passthrough sockets, tempted for my ps3, might improve streaming on iplayer, or to connect freesat box for iplayer.

Heat for passthrough.

cheapest I could find otherwise was £29. wish I could add more heat. Ordered with delivery+ to local garage - brilliant

Anyone know if mixing these with some TP-Link adapters will work?

i might get this for my ps3; my family are always complaining about the 3m ethernet cable I have going through the hallway

Cheers for this - was tasked with sorting out a set of these for my uncle this weekend; just what I needed.

Cheers again,

iecuk

Thanks for posting OP.

But wtf is the deal with the Woman on the box seductively (?) biting her finger?

I think the marketing department got a bit carried away there.

Great deal, almost a shame I don't need any!

Pass through is very nice, especially since they do not tend to work well on extension cords.

That being said, you can get 500mbit for a little bit more - and that may be worth it if you want to transfer files etc...

Reminds of those animated colourful cartoony porn popup ads with obscure objects. oO

Here's a better pic.

Depends on what setup you have & what adapters you have. If you have older ones like 85's then no but they can co-exist together with new standards side by side just won't connect to each other. If they're recent ones then it should be fine.

From tp-link.com/en/…406

Q: Are 500Mbps PLC adapters compatible with 200Mbps PLC adapters? Are TP-LINK PLC adapters compatible with adapters of other Brands?

A: 500Mbps PLC adapters also accord with HomePlug AV Standard, so they are compatible with 200Mbps adapters, however the powerline rate will drop to 200Mbps. The adapters accord with the same standard should be compatible with each other.

dLAN: Connecting Homeplug Adapters from different manufacturers

Problem:
How do you connect devolo dLAN adapters with Homeplug adapters from other manufacturers that comply with the Homeplug standard to a corporate Network?

Solution:
It is a precondition to use adapters that comply with the Homeplug standard. To combine the devolo MicroLink dLAN adapters with other HomePlug adapters, all adapters must use the same password:

Configure the dLAN adapter in the usual way:
1. Start the dLAN Configuration Wizard
2. Enter the security IDs of all dLAN adapters
3. Assign a password

Now assign the same password to the other HomePlug adapters. Please refer to the manual of the other HomePlug adapters to find out how to assign a password to these adapters.

Hot and ordered!

Devolo's for this price is a smoking hot find! Well done OP.

It all depends on how much megabits is being used and what you getting, also make sure that there on the same ring main as some houses have 2 and then wonder why they don't work. Also if you are going to use them plug them into the GigE port as well. Also make sure its plugged into a wall socket and not an extension cable.

Wait what colour is it again? I can't find it in the product description :p.

Decent price for a pass through but seriously what is special about this apart from it being black and some people preferring the colour?

Are they trading on connotations of things like the AMD Black editions which have unlocked multipliers and are therefore superior to standard editions?

I suppose they go well with these black nickel sockets which seems to all the rage at the moment with folks deciding on black decorations they what in their homes. Having white sockets/switches on black wall would just simply just stand out too much so these black Devolo's are "Special". X)

Watch Powerline vs Wireless vs Ethernet Networking (NCIX Tech Tips #52).

In order of my choice, cat5e/6 ethernet cable>powerline>wireless but each to their own pros & cons dependant on your setup reqs.

If only property developers would start installing ethernet cable/points in every new build as standard just like electric points would be nice. Not that is too hard to route it yourself but would be much cleaner to start with.

The woman on all Devolo's wireless kit boxes looks like Jenni Lee. NSFW!!!!!!!

+ Price good
+ Passthrough technology good.

- 200mbps bad. ( well technically not bad. But make sure you don't need more than 200mbps before buying )

Dropped today... Setting up tomorrow.

One thing I didn't think of at the time was extending my WiFi. We only really use it now for phones, so speed isn't a big issue. Just wondering if I could tap into any tips for compatible extenders on the cheap.

I've got a sparerouter and a 1 port ADSL gateway thing (That's about as techy as I get), but our internet is cable now hence them being spare.

Thanks again for the deal... Well pleased and pleasantly surprised at the size having been expecting a shoe box stuck to the wall!

Bump.

This is back in stock. Wondering if I should get these (because passthough) or the 500s, but then I'd have to connect them to a 6 way ganger... would that make it totally rubbish?
