Its about using the most convenient tool for the job, I used my Dewalt Dcf 709 drill to fix (ok bodge) a loose outside waste pipe today , wasnt worth getting the Flexvolt SDS drill out for a couple of 6mm holes for plugs and screws in render.
Just like I dont use a JCB to go shopping in Tescos. (edited)

I got one of these yesterday to put up a glorified shed with windows... I mean a summerhouse I just bought. I really only want it to do some screwing and to make some convenient holes in light materials. I have a wired Parkside drill for heavier jobs that works a treat, but obviously it's very heavy and not too portable. I think everyone should have a heavy duty drill and one for the smaller jobs. Only tradies need the best of both worlds and they pay dearly for the privilege.

Will this go into brick - my old Ryobi combi will not go through brick (and it is not the drill bits)

You sure its not the drill bits? I have an aldi 14.4v one that will go through brick with a bit of effort.

Would love to see a similar deal but with impact drivers

Would love to see a similar deal but for a laptop 🤪
...or an impact driver...I'm with yesgo...got the old brushed version of this, but it still works well (and the sparks smell nice) off to toolstation to see what they've got in the way of impact drivers.

Ok for what it is but far better models out there. The dcd796 is miles better and only £61 bare unit online

I'm trying to pick a new combi drill and can't decide between this and DCD796.
Genuine question.. Please can you explain how it is better?
I've looked on Google but can only see 5nm extra torque and XR metal body?

Another option is this. 5AH Erbauer, 120nM - absolute beast of a drill. Dewalt's version touches £400/£500 for a similar spec.
