No worries, it happens all the time
These are very popular in London, there are any number of people who will remove the locks you fitted to your scooter or bicycle.
I must say I hate using small hand grinders and only use them if I have too. Regardless of how much I've used them they just seem inherently dangerous due to the light weight and small grip moment and unfortunately they are usually needed when space is tight or for small close in jobs when the handle gets in the way! More of a psychological thing I'm sure but this grinder doesnt seem as notorious to use day in day out. Having witnessed a guy tripping over while using a grinder without a brake, he got it turned off but the blade took an agonisingly long time to stop while he lay clutching it on the floor so a big bonus for this on that front. It has slow start so you dont get that hard kick torque feeling either, no lead to fall over or get out of the way too. Certainly not as powerful as a 240v but realistically if you need more power in a hand grinder you should probably be using a big one! If you are in the dewalt eco system and need a hand grinder it's a great piece of kit.

Grinders, like almost all tools, are perfectly safe if used correctly. As you've already said, this is lighter on power than a 110v or 230v grinder, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. I used mine when tiling my kitchen walls and floor, and the lower power meant much more control, making it the ideal tool for cutting shapes, corners etc in tiles.

I agree they can generally be used safely but opinion on used correctly really comes down to risk assessment for a specific job. People lying under cars using hand grinders in confined spaces for example, is that being used correctly? Certainly more risky than hacksawing a bolt instead, just not as easy or quick. Its human to err, maybe wrong grip, lapse of judgement after a long day etc and I personally feel theres much more to go wrong very quickly with grinders in general than over most other powered hand tools I use, which is why I prefer using this over my 240v. I think your right about control on this machine which sums it up nicely!
